Bloody hell. Been flogging down here for the last 90min or more. Can't fathom how the airport has only 4.5mm since 9am and the racetrack has 8mmm(as at 8pm).

kill army worms with neem oil or go to Nuleaf and get a product called Surround, or anything with Bifenthrin, it works with a little rain had to deal with the bastards lots, they love expensive turf

Seems GFS and EC have this Inland low hanging around for some time yet in pretty much the same area for the next 8 Days.
Forecasts from these models for the Townsville region over the period are insane, especially EC which is going for 1144mm and the lesser GFS 365mm over the next 10 days.
Will be interesting to see how it all plays out. GFS extended shows no end in sight either with constant rain right through to the end of their forecast on the 15th Feb.

So just tipped out 55mm even from that little shower + the 24.2mm tipped out from today gives me 79.2 so far today.

Wowza Pac!! Will that be 2m of rain in 2 months? How much did you get in December? 1074mm for December 2018 and yes that will make it 2mtrs in 2mnths, staggering to think about as its the Cairns airports annual rainfall in such a short period.

Nice bit of a light show tonight down here in gVale. The kid’s balls are back floating around the yard from that last downpour and looks like there is another sizeable patch coming in from the nor-west. Notice our week ahead forecast has dropped the total predictions expected with each update but the flurry of dire warnings from the media about the coming days/weekend is rising considerably.

I never thought I'd wish for the rain to take a break for a day or two. Just a day, maybe two of sunshine and then let it come back. Likely to end up with webbed feet soon.

It is amazing. I never experienced anything like that in my 3 wet seasons in Cairns. The Dec-Jan total here is wetter than any I had down there. It is starting to smell very swampy now. Would be nice for the rain to hold off a bit today as I have a goat in labor and it is much easier if she can kid in the backyard on the grass. A lot more of a cleanup job if she kids in the shed.

It is amazing. I never experienced anything like that in my 3 wet seasons in Cairns. The Dec-Jan total here is wetter than any I had down there. 3 wet seasons isn't much of a time span to start comparing Dec-Jan totals around the region though Simmo. 10 wets in each would be a better starting point.

98mm to finish the month off, taking my monthly total 968mm.
I am off to Canada now for a month on holidays, -16 will be my landing temperature. Can't wait to see my February results when I am back

It's been very calm up here around Port. Barely anything yesterday, just 18mm in my gauge. Feel like I'm missing out which is ridiculous really. Watching the flash flooding around bluewater bought back some uncomfortable feelings from the times I have been through that myself, PTSD in full swing. Really feel for those affected.

was near Mareeba yesterday Simmo, very swampy indeed. Any rain just sits on the surface now RF. Have had a lake out the front for nearly 1 week. Even with only 14mm over the last 2 days. Have a safe trip HF. Tinaroo nearly at 96%. Mareeba Barron river alert seems to be responding properly now too. 9.8mm here takes me to 291.2mm YTD. Feb is shaping up to be wet wet wet.

Spot on RF. Just had a quick look at CAP records, starting 1942, and this Dec-Jan is the wettest on record with 1572.2mm. The next closest was only 20mm lower in 1981 with 1552.2mm. The next closest was 1979 with 1384.6 so nearly 200mm lower. I was not even born the last time this happened in Dec and January.
