Sometimes looking at the radar, if there's any rain showing, I flick to 128km to make the rain area look bigger. Sadly, it doesn't mean (more) rain...

Anybody else subscribe to Early Warning Network (EWN)?
Just got a text and email to say they'd been hacked.

Here's something I found on Reddit, not that it says much.

One poster says the site is up again, but I still can't get in.

We don't usually hear of this kind of thing til 6 months later do we...

Right, it's back now.....rush to change password....or not? grin

I un-subscibed a week ago.
Just meaningless SWW notifications that were never going to happen. If anything worth taking seriously develops, I'm sure WZ and the forums will be flooded with news of it.

Thinking you may be right hickory. A few years ago, it may have been more relevant, and may be fine for people who aren't watching. But for me at Chillagoe, we're right in the corner of 3 weather districts and none of them relevant to us. Nothing ever makes it this far, whichever direction it comes from. grin

I'm sure that anything even close to being a threat will be all over the forums, and the media, so it makes the SWW's a bit unnecessary.

Looking like things could get a little wet wednesday evening through Thursday. Only problem is my sis is flying in wednesday night at 1045pm.
Models are all pretty much in agreement though it is still outside the 48 hour period that they are most accurate. If they are still saying the same tuesday morning then I will start thinking of plans to be able to get down the range to pick her up. Might have to spend the night in Cairns.

What's next, bit of rain for a day maybe from the remnants of Penny?

Still better than this time last year, first rains didn't show until around the 20th approx of Jan, this year we imitate the garden of Eden and look for more of the same - lovely

Yeah it was still brown out here till the end of Jan last year. We had 11.2mm the 16th, 17.8mm the 17th, 11.8mm the 18th and 33.8mm 19th. That was the start of the wet

Compared to green pretty much since the start of December this season

Latest update on Penny has hit going south, around TSV. Us being to the north means minimal rain right?

What are the factors that could nudge it a little north??

I am hoping for a bit of a soaking...despite the recent December drenching!

Is it too much to ask...?

8mm from passing shows this afternoon. Just getting piddly bits like that here and there. The best Owen could give us was 13mm of vertical rain, had hoped for more than that out of Penny.

We really really need something to replenish the water table.

Hopefully we should get something from ex penny. When ex owen crossed the first time there was plenty of rain to his north I think. Dont think we will see any big totals though.

I will be happy with 50mm over the next few days. Should be a few storms about too which will probably be pretty fast moving.
