GFS is not the only model pretty much all of them say the same thing with that Gulf low hanging around the N Gulf Region/NE NT for the next 10 days or so.

for DAMAGING WINDS and HEAVY RAINFALL
For people in North Tropical Coast and Tablelands and parts of Peninsula, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and Herbert and Lower Burdekin Forecast Districts.
Issued at 4:31 pm Saturday, 26 January 2019.
Increasing risk of heavy rain and flooding across areas of north Queensland tonight and Sunday.

Weather Situation: The monsoon trough is currently situated across Cape York Peninsula, but is forecast to shift southwards over north Queensland into tonight and during Sunday.
Heavy rainfall, which may lead to flash flooding, is forecast through areas of far north Queensland during the remainder of today and should extend southwards to Townsville and Ayr on Sunday. Six-hourly rainfall totals of 100mm to 150mm are likely with locally heavier falls possible with thunderstorms. Into tonight and during Sunday, LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL AND FLOODING will become an increased risk about the tropical east coast and ranges with six-hourly rainfall totals in excess of 250mm possible.
Locally damaging winds, with peak gusts in excess of 90km/h, are possible across parts of north Queensland during the remainder of today and Sunday.
A Flood Watch is current for areas north of Ayr to Normanton excluding the far northern Cape York Peninsula north of Weipa.
Locations which may be affected include Townsville, Cairns, Yarrabah, Port Douglas, Palm Island, Ingham, Innisfail, Mareeba, Atherton, Tully, Coen, Hope Vale, Wujal Wujal, Cooktown and Cardwell.
Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Gulf Country district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

129mm at Saddle Mountain
107mm at Cairns Airport
