No rain here as yet!!

But there was some half decent structure about this morning.

When I first spotted this cell I was mowing a lawn and I should have stopped there and then to take a pic but I pushed through and drove a few minutes to the beach to capture this pic below. Had Ive taken this pic when I should have, one I would have been able to fit it all in the one pic and two it was ten times better looking than what you see here.

Some really decent heavy showers pushing through the metro atm.
Young Bart is going to get drenched at football training tonight.
Re football, I mean the round ball game, not egg ball.

Fantastic photo Eddy, that's a very nice cloudform!

It looks like a few heavy showers are moving from the coast into the Western suburbs.

These heavy showers must be cumulus congestus clouds hence why there doesn't seem to be any lightning; something is preventing them from growing further.

While everyone is chatting about the potential TCs for WA, how about this potential ECL / Tasman Low for us! Check out the fetch of those southerlies and those uppers!

Long way out but worth watching!

Surprised no one has mentioned the savage cold change due next week. May even deserve its own thread with snow a potential on higher peaks.

The one due on Tuesday? MSLP chart doesn't seem to indicate a sustained SW'ly airflow in the wake of the front and hints at winds quickly swinging S'ly and becoming variable. At this time of year I don't think that will result in particularly cold conditions, unlike like the one that came through weekend before last. Still, could improve between now and then as was the case with the last front.

The cold front currently visible on the satellite deep in the Southern Ocean looks like a bit of a monster. Fingers crossed one like that slips north soon.

The front next week doesn't look that interesting to me, stock standard for the time of year really.

It was mostly overcast today with a couple of sunny breaks. It must have been sunnier at Sydney OH where it reached its forecast 24. The rain mostly stayed away but I got caught in a shower just now.

That front for Tuesday looks like it will bring some snow to the Alps but the winds will quickly turn Southerly, so it will mostly just deliver more mild, overcast, showery weather to the coast.

Looking forward to some sun and warmth over the next few days. It's a long weekend coming up: 49 hours.

Yes stock standard but something about it reminds me of the mundane April 99 setup.
I Had to drive a client to royal price alburt hospital today, noticed all the water seeping throughout the sandstone in the lane cove tunnel area. Must have been quiet the downpour yesterday.

Looks like a few 30C days coming up, starting today, then returning to very mild weather again.
Certainly nothing like last year's 1st half of April, and back to a more shoulder season like pattern - which is great.
