Getting thicker and expanding now. Lots of horns sounding out on the water now.

Some large spiders attacking people and huge tentacles coming out of the mist and grabbing people ....

The fog's moving in here now. I don't normally get fog here, it tends to stick to the Harbour and valleys.

No spiders or tentacles though.

Captain on our last cruise kept saying it was the ship's whistle you could here everybody else was calling it a horn/fog horn as we were in thick fog near Greenland and it would sound approximately every 3 minutes and went on for hours. Fog horns belong on land.
To get back on topic very thick fog in Canberra/Tuggeranong this morning cleared now ad it was forecast probably cause of the cold temperatures and a fair bit of moisture around after all the rain last week (approx 46mm here which was very welcome)

Whoa look at the heavy rain moving up the coast, I didn't expect anything like that.

Thought I caught a flash out of the corner of my eye on the way to work, and yes a couple on tracker just offshore Kiama. Starting moderate rain in Shellharbour just now.

Yeah steady moderate rain here now - beautiful! Weird that we're getting it first but I'll take it.

Seems that the southerly arrived much earlier than forecast - not a breath of wind though, but good steady rain right now. Heavier stuff to the south and slowly creeping up. Should see 20mm I'm hoping.

Still raining - some heavy falls now interspersed within the moderate stuff. Looks like more coming too.

Those showers are moving into Sydney's South now, with cells popping up in Sydney's West ahead of the main front. There are more showers way out to sea. There doesn't appear to be any lightning with the showers.

It was sunny with some interesting cloudscapes about a little while ago, especially to the East. I was going to take a picture of a photogenic cauliflower tower - got my phone out, brought up the camera, adjusted the zoom, pointed it at the sky and found that a bank of strato-crapulus had moved in front of it. Such is life.

The low cloud has since multiplied and it looks like it's here to stay. It's also getting a bit windy and cooling down. No rain yet, however.

Chatswood, not far from me or CS22, has picked up 14 mm, which would have fallen in the last hour or so. Other sites on the lower North Shore and Manly area have had over 10 mm.

It's brightened up here and has stopped raining.

It was quite heavy in Macquarie Park, probably similar to what you guys in Lane Cove had. Almost all over now. Nice little surprise!

About 30 minutes of steady rain here which was at times very heavy.
Probably about 4 or 5 mm's. Look's as though it will end soon.
Temp dropped 3 degrees as well to 17.8.
Beautiful.

Montague Island has picked a quick fire 40mm over last 90mins or so. Always encouraging in my area to see stuff to your south (as long its not a stream from NE), means the Illawarra is in with a shot for more this evening/tonight. May just be some good, but well scattered totals over next 12 hours.

We've had 30.8mm here since 9AM!

Chatswood in the east and North Ryde to the west both missed the heaviest that train had to offer. I recorded a peak rate of 180mm/h.
