Can we just move all forecasts to 3 day forecasts? Iím so sick of seeing rain on the forecasts at 7/6/5/4 days only to disappear by the 3rd day out or it just keeps pushing out to 5 days and never eventuates. In this climate you cannot help but hope youíll get something just to see it disappear again and again. The last 4 days has been saying rain in about 5 days and the amounts keep changing and it keeps pushing out. Itís so frustrating 😢

When you say rain, do you mean as in a steady widespread rain event? Or the chance of a shower or storm?

Because if the latter, it's been said countless times in here that forecast rainfall amounts from showers or storms should always be taken with a grain of salt.

Unfortunately, many of us are living in areas, whether in the zone of this thread or in many parts of this country that are suffering severe(or even record) drought. Of course, the current pattern is frustrating everyone. Somebody will probably get one or two decent storms, but as I said before isolated to scattered storms with these crazy temperatures and huge rain deficiencies is just not going to solve the dire situation. We just keep waiting and hoping.

Record on the new station is 37.9, record on the old station is 38.8. So we're not really looking at breaking either, given Brisbane City's propensity to not reach the forecast maximum on heatwave days due to seabreeze.

What are those big blob line of clouds over goondiwindi?? Is that part of the storm system developing? I'm suprised any cloud would form out west given how dry it is out there

Those are along the surface trough out there. Even though it's relatively dry at the surface, there's a pretty moist layer between the mid and low levels from which a lot of parcels are convecting from.
This happens a lot out there.
Moral of the story is, always think of the atmosphere in 3D, not just as the surface.

I know Ken, I know and please donít take it personally. Itís still soul Destroying when every time you feed out you wonder if weíll make it through winter 😢 If we got even half of the 5 day predicted Ďshowerí activity we would have grass. It just keeps disappearing off the forecast before it actually happens. It sux

Video of the lightning active thunderstorm that hit here last night:

After the main area of storms cleared out to sea by midnight, some scattered showers and very isolated storms moved through the northern MNC in the lingering instability until they cleared offshore around 8:30-9am.

We received 29.4mm in the 24hrs to 9am here. The wettest place was Turners Flat with 44mm (not far NW of Kempsey).

A few storms on the far northern MNC this afternoon just inland of Coffs and Woolgoolga.

All good Lani smile I don't even bother looking at rainfall amounts full stop (apart from when I have to for work) unless the forecast is for anything other than showers or storms... and even then, I don't get excited unless it's something over 100mm. If I get anything here, I consider myself lucky lol

Nice video Seabreeze. I can't even remember what that kind of scene looks like now here.

Still think we will be waiting til mid to end of week for even some storms or showers. As you said Ken the surface trough looks closer to the coast until the change comes through.

Nice video seabreeze, certainly you guys have had some good storms compared to SE QLD. Unsure what's attracting the storms in your neck of the woods compared to QLD

There were a couple of injuries too at the rowing club:
Myall Lakes MP: "Two people have been injured and taken to Manning Hospital, one was hit by flying debris and a second was in the Clubhouse, I am told both are stable.
The Rowing clubhouse has lost its roof and a number of boats are damaged, thankfully the majority of children and families attending the regatta are safe and well."
