See this image - anyone can create the spreadsheet model for yourself using this data: Ross River Dam

Currently just under 74% using this graph and the river height data from BoM here:

inland suburbs getting hammered tonight, even some embedded storms with lightning and thunder a bit earlier. RR Dam catchment getting a massive soaking. If this keeps up, the dam will be getting close to full in a few days time.

Looks like Ross dam catchment might have gotten as much, or a bit more than TSV city.
Dam is just over 81% just a little while ago.

Morning all. I snuck out at 0730 to check my Nylex and its sitting on 126mm. 100mm yesterday makes for great event so far.

Thunder storms and lightning as well.
Potential son in law is an ambo and he just told me there was a heck of a lot of roads cut around Townsville last night due to local flooding.

Every time I look at the radar, I have to rub my eyes, we haven't had any decent rain since they moved the radar. I'm enjoying this rain, but I forgot how damp everything gets. It's been a while since we've had back to back days where you look at any direction and see dark clouds/rain. Normally we have to watch rain go around us in the distance.

137mm in Rasmussen (about 3klm from Ross Dam) for last 24 hours. Over a 3rd of last years total already.
Dam catchment is coping a heck of a lot of rain and its filling rapidly. Weirs are flowing over the walls and taking all that water weed with it too. Wrt lands are flooding which makes for a great fishing season for prawns, crabs and fish.

Dam is now at 91.2% - would expect the gates to be operated within 12-24hrs with the current rate of inflow and forecast continued rainfall over the catchment.

Go to page 33 of the document to have a look at what steps the operator must take.

Supposed to be coming down to the Ville this weekend. Not looking great right now.

Been a long time since Townsville enjoyed multiple days of decent rain. Happy for you.
