Was looking at the radar yesterday when at work thinking C@28 is going to get a bit. Glad it came through.

Mareeba was piggy in the middle yesterday. Lost me a bet too on how much rain we were going to receive from 9am Friday to 9am Monday. If we had of received what you did C@28 I would have won. frown smile

Anyone else notice the MAP hygrometer has the DP higher than the actual temperature. Think she needs replacing. 😂🤣

Just got back from a couple of days in Cairns. Boy was it wet up there!

Came back to a total of 173 mm for the 3 days I was away, paltry compared with further north.

Ended up with 73.6mm mostly from that stormage.

Hopefully so more stormage this arvo

Swing the BoM a thingo Simmo, might get some action on the MAP station?

Gotta say, I don't think I've seen our house any damper than it was this morning. Literally everything is damp, even had condensation on aftershave/perfume bottles.

All our glass has thick condensation and moisture coating...ughh
Places stinks from being locked up and the humidity is oppresive now the sun is starting to come out. Everything looks so.lush and green. The sounds of mowers and chainsaws echo through the hood. Time to get cleaning and open the place up a bit before the next round of rains.

I feel so bad for Townsville. In the North Qld Wet Season threat I saw a post where someone commented on 'hose guys always get the rain...when will it be our turn' or something to that effect. I really felt for them. Even now they are getting rain but its nothing like what we got!

Poor buggas. I whinge about the lack of rain up here when we miss out - for them, they always miss out frown

I'm glad someone else is getting all the rain for a change smile We usually get much more than anywhere else. "Only" 75mm here in the past 24 hrs and 795mm for the MTD.

Just talking to a friend in Darwin. Glad to hear that Chillagoe has had so much rain, but lamenting that Darwin has only had half it's usual rainfall so far. Usually over 700mm by now, but just over 300mm. Guess Riley has sucked a bit away, and we've got the rest.

What about Bulgun? Less than 10km from Tully and 120mm so far yet Tully has received about 30mm. 🤔

I keep hearing how we will get more rain this week. Is this just scaremongering from the media or are we supposed to get another soaking this week? What are the mechanics of this? That MT has slipped south yea?

Don't speak too soon...it seems too good to be true....despite this weekend almost being "beach weather" down here (apart from all the box jellies washing up), going by the models and forecasts the main event is yet to come for us around Tully...while-ever this trough is hanging around I wouldn't be too surprised to see some Daintree like totals anywhere between Ingham and Cairns this week...

Its been enjoyable working in the light rain and cooler weather we have been getting but I'm going on strike and watching Netflix and playing bad guitar if we start getting flood rain... grin

Even a small SE surge qith an active monsoon as it pushes back north should give decent totals.

Think we just had a good half inch in that shower.

Lucky you. No power out here for the last couple of hours. Rather oppressive as breeze is minimal.
