Probably the last hot day of the season near the coast today, reaching 32 in the City and nearly 35 at the Airport. The NW'er has been battling the sea breeze at OH for a few hours now, with Easterlies at Fort Denison while the flags on the Bridge show a brisk NW'er.

Most of Sydney reached 33-34, with a thin layer of alto cumulus likely taking the edge off the heat. The hottest in the State looks to have been 36 at Bourke.

The Southerly change looks likely to arrive in Sydney mid morning tomorrow, after another warm night. After that it's a cooldown for a couple of days, then not much of anything for a while. Storm chances for tomorrow look promising, but they might be better in the Hunter with a later Southerly.

The Southerly passed through Point Perpendicular around 11:15. Seems to be just arriving at Kiama. It's a bit later than expected.

It's cloudy now after a sunny start. I had a few drops of rain on the windscreen. Sydney sites have reached 27-28. The Hunter Valley under sunshine is as hot or hotter than yesterday.

The change is just arriving in Artarmon.

Some lightning-active storms passed through the Hunter earlier (mentioned by Stormy on the Autumn thread). They're now out to sea. Cells are also developing just off Sydney's coast but are rapidly moving off to the East.

The change is dropping temps by about 4 degrees, maybe eventually by 7 degrees judging by the Illawarra.

Haha, glad you like it!!

And thanks to everyone else for the comments too!!

Not much in the way of precip here, just 0.6mm. And not much in the way of storm activity either believe it or not, just the odd rumble from that cell offshore. Change has come through in the last hour or so, some strong winds closer to the beach with a local PWS recording a gust of nearly 80kmph.

That's a magnificent rainshaft; looks very close! And I love the effect of the rainbow through it too.

It looks like cool nights are on the way with possibly the next few nights falling below 10C; also yesterday's 33C was very pleasant because it was so dry.

Another pic take just a couple of minutes early. I didn't quite get the exposure right on this one, but goes to show the core in its entirety.

Amazing pics Eddy!

What's interesting was that even with the southerly in full force at 5pm the mozzies still found a way to attack me. That's with my area being a ross river virus outbreak region. What's also interesting is the amount of slugs moving throughout in the night.

Had a bit of light frost on my neighbors car this morning. Which is the first this year. Dipped to 7.0C at campbelltown AWS. Lovely morning for a cup of coffee.

Surprisingly it wasn't that cold here overnight with the minimum being 19c, currently its 20.4c.
Wind has eased somewhat and there appears to be a few drizzly patches about.

Frost? That is very surprising. Do you live in a frost hollow? I know we are in one at West Ryde as we are surrounded by hills on all sides, but I've never recorded a frost earlier than late May in 10 years of record keeping.

That's interesting that you guys dipped so low in that area, usually we take the cake but the recent rainfall has probably shifted that dynamic.
Last year it was very dry so we were able to record a frost in April.

Already down to 12C here so it will be cold tonight. Also this morning at 6:30 it was 11.9C at Albion Park with a dew point of 6.6 and 70%. I got in the car at 6:45 and there was a dew, not particularly heavy but still some effort to clear the windscreen as I was driving. So I reckon it could have got close to 100% humidity at my house and based on that dew point reading, it may have been as low as 7C here.
