Great day 39c gusty winds then stroms so good.

3 stroms came through,
1st strom quick burst of heavy rain from high based cell that looked to intesify as moved SE then was crazy humid after with a few big rumbles with TS
2nd cell had small hail with it that was a surpise big rumbles strong winds and driving rain with local minor street flooding
3rd strom just missed to the south but amazing bolt fest so many bolts with it and a number of close flangs more steady rain with it

Now 26/21c with a few more showers and possible rumbles likley

I JUST LOVE SPRING AND SUMMER

PS Insane rain in FNQ some places 500mm+ in 24 hours and 3-5 days total in the 500 to 800 range nuts with loads more to come.

6mm in the Nylex

Very lucky to pickup 2.75mm from a midmorning storm here. Then it went partly sunny humid 36c during the arvo. The oldies around here are over the recent weather.

Storms looming from our NW atm. No thunder yet ..and hard to look out for whats coming due to so much smoke to our NW.

Now reeking of smoke. If we get rain ..
It'll come down black!

Just had our first proper drenching in a while, rained pretty heavily for a good 10 minutes. Constant lightning and thunder, awesome light show which started well before the drenching and continues as it passes.

I've been waiting for a light show like this for a while now. Feel Good Now grin

After my last post, a small cell popped up behind the first one and we copped another dose of solid heavy rain, lasted around 4-5 mins. I'm actually surprised the BoM didn't issue a detailed STW for heavy rain.

First dry to 39c at 2pm then first cell blown up above my house very fast 15min towering and Anvils then started heavy thick rain 1mm

Second thunderstorm shifted N/NE to NW-W wind dumped 5mm only last 8min.

3rd weak cell moved over dumped 1mm in 4min before it weaken.

Lucky the cirrus and Anvils from North still blocking sun keep surfaces wet before evening no more dust.

Manaaged 4 Cells this arvo and Tonight. 1 small thundery one to start with. The second had some hail in it. I then went up into the basin to try and get a load of the cell heading to the South West but I didn't manage to take any pictures
The 9pm cell arrived and I watched that lightning fest, which was backed up by another small cell. Both of the last two had some intense rain. The Weather Station at my fire brigade was registering a rain rate of 76.8mm an hour!
It was nice to get a taste of storms again. I got to write this one up on my blog! I thought the day was over at 7ish

An impressive lightning display last night finally yielded 2.5mm rain circa 1am this morning. Took us to 2 storms in 24hrs and 5.25mm rain to guzzump Samoboz' tally.

Anyone out storm chasing today?
Would be nice to get some info on where to go!
East looks good but I'm not sure if I should just sit tight and wait for storms to develop across the bay.

Just got (about) 1mm from a brief thundery shower. Some massive, spectacular cumulonimbus around.

Cyclone or tropical low likely hit Queensland and hope the High Pressure catch under it and pull the humid to SE Australia more rain. Charts too early for Monday 18th
