Nothing here. Storms get to within a few k's then die.

In the 25 years we have been here I have never seen our place so dry. The dams so low.

Hopefully the good flood that always ruins a good drought won't be too bad.

Very unpleasant mowing the lawn even at 4.30pm in this humidity.

There wont be any flood for a long long time I feel.
I think were well into an unprecedented and extended period of suppressed rainfall that could last 7-10 years, and set all kinds of new records for drought in this area of Qld.

Ergon did a planned power cut here 8.30 to 12.30midday lucky they had it back on an hour earlier.

No air con/fans etc.

Lawn seems to be growing but we do have a sand spear so water daily , the growth in 9 days was phenomenal. At the moment though since mowing it looks brown .

I reckon we will see some decent rain in March and April but not enough to make up for the deficit for the past 2 months.

I just hope when our visitors from New Zealand visit us in mid May it isn't humid and warm . Hopefully normal temps for May by then..

Also how can Rocky get 40 deg next Thursday with SE winds ? That is what they are saying and 38 deg on Friday with S winds.

Seems odd to see heat with that wind direction doesn''t it ? Anyone know why?

Wonder if Rocky will get to 39, only 35 at most so far. Yeppoon only 28 instead of 31.

38.9c for me today, I've moved down into Koongal from Norman Gardens in recent weeks. Looking at 39c tomorrow again, might nudge 40c. Keeping an eye on OMA, some models showing she may move up into our neck of the woods next week.

Anyone notice the mornings feeling a little fresher?
It looks like summer is just about done, already the fist signs of Autumn are upon us, the flowing grasses usually seen in April are out now, the black cockatoos have totally vanished like they do in May. What a strange season that was, so very dry and very brief summer.

No apart from a few nights below 25 , no nights are still warm and humid here . Sleeping with the fan on which is rare for me. Humidity does seem low for a month that usually is very humid .

I'll give it another 4 weeks before I say that . I think if we haven't had rain in the next 4 weeks we won't have any until next season.

Who knows we might get all our rain we missed over summer in a few days next month ..
