ok John, you make a valid point! It would be nice for a official weather station in the Melton area to prove this then! smile

Day 13 of below average temps. I would have to say the coolest end of the year in my teaching career!

After some clouds and drizzle this morning, the skies cleared to a mostly sunny afternoon. Breeze has been blowing all day which has made the day quite cool. Can't wait to feel some warmth over the next few days!

Caroline Springs Min: 9.5 Max: 18.2
Melbourne Min: 10.9 Max: 18.7

Would be great to have one there. When you start teaching Tony? 2001 we didn't crack a 30c day until the 28th of December

I started in 2000. (Actually 1999 was a half year of teaching for me, my first full year was 2000!) And now that you mention it, I do remember 2001, and discussing with my teaching partner the coolness of that end of year as well! She grew up in NSW and had told me it was hard to adjust to a 'cool' melbourne! Oh NSW people frustrate me so much! lol

Today in Trentham.....(from Clyve)
"My Max today was 14c here in Trentham that's 6c below the mean average, that's now 17 days on which the Max has not reached the mean average, according to Julian Hollis that is unprecedented its never happened before in Trentham (Over the past 40 years anyway, unofficial)....What a great place Trentham is....Expecting a cold night tonight if the wind drops even a frost that would make 3 frosts this month."

I've lit my fire - this is the sort of changeable weather that I moved to Victoria for laugh

well I just woke to 9.9c, I love the change of weather in Melbourne too, but it's just getting boring now. Cold weather for a week? I know this happens and the rain has been fantastic but it's summer. It looks like next week will be much warmer, hopefully it can kick off some storms. Maybe we are going to have a humid summer this year. With loads of rain and storms. I have the heater on again.

Hey John of course it's a nice weekend, it's because I'm working. Happens everytime! 30c tomorrow, woo hoo, that's just a perfect temp for me, I hate sweltering heat but 30c is just sweet.

What a difference a bit of sun makes! Even though the day was still below average, (14th day in a row to be precise!), the fact the sun was out made it feel much more pleasant than it has in a while. From my vantage point here in Caroline Springs, there was still quite heavy cloud cover down to the south, so I am going to guess that maybe the Bellarine peninsula and the surf coast had cloud cover all day?

So today was simple, sunny, a light breeze and mild temps, just a lovely spring day smile

Caroline Springs: Min: 9.2 Max: 21.4
Melbourne: Min: 9.9 Max: 21.2

We now have 2 Davis Vantage Pro2 stations live in Trentham - not bad in a town with a population of less than 1000!

You can run the 2 stations side by side on the screen and make direct comparisons of the conditions in Trentham - which is very exciting for us in Trentham laugh and might be for others - especially in winter!!!!

Unlike Clyve, I'm very protected from southerlies & southwesterlies by a line of tall conifers 40m from the house, but I get everything else!!

These 2 stations are 1.3km and 5mtrs in height ASL apart

Excellent Jane! I do think that area of Victoria should have more of a focus!
