Hahaha C@28. I wonder if you can convert a rainwater tank into one. That's the size I would need. Today is forecast to be cooler than yesterday though I do not see that happening. Yesterday at this time it was 24.7c today it is 29c already!!!

The evening storms were good, temp went down and humidity up a notch, the rain was welcome. I suspect its more of the same for the next week or so, late storms each day?

Hi all,
I just returned from almost a fortnight in Bali. I had a cock up with flights, and ended up coming home via Adelaide and Melbourne. Gah! So, I got into Cairns yesterday at 4pm, took the doggo for a walk at yorkies and got absolutely soaked. Then got home to no power. After 2 days of travel and junk food, I are crackers and hummus for dinner haha.
Then, no fans, no aircon, no nothing, I tried to sleep...not a great night sleep to be honest. Power came back on at 2am.
So I missed all the news. I know TSV flooded but I read / saw no details (I made concerted effort to disconnect whilst away). Were records broken? It sounded pretty bad. I guess they got what we had for a few days, I wonder if they have the same good drainage that we have?
Anyways, day of laundry and nappy. The heat is feral. In contrast, Bali forecast storms every day but only had two lasting an hour each. Bali was cool and windy for most of it.

Think it might've been hotter today, but forgot to look. 5.15pm and currently 33.7 degrees and 35% humidity. Mostly blue sky with a few puffs of white cloud.

Went and had a look at the Tinaroo dam wall today, pretty impressive, I find the sheets of water going down the wall mesmerising

It was much, much worse than that. Most places had 1500-2000mm in 9 days.

Disconnected or not, half a minute of reasearch would show you what happened. Guess that comes with being ignorant. I had 1603mm in 10 days including 4x200mm plus daily falls and another falling 4mm short of 200.

Boy o boy! The bloody mould!
😂😂😂 got the whole week planned out...., cleaning mould😢
Did I mention my distaste for hot humid weather? It is a real battle between my hatred for this weather and my out and out hatred for the cost of electricity.
The battle continues......

Yes reports of up to half a million stock lost Simmo, that's just, woah..
Sounded like perfectly reasonable question DU, no need to "Pull ya head in"
Looks like hot and dry for a while now. Returned from 4 days off yesterday to 36mm.

Wow @ the attacks on Drivenunder.
What Ronfishes said ! He only asked a question and oddly enough he did so in a weather forum. What happened in Townsville is not his fault.

Cloudless sky this afternoon and evening, although there was the faintest pink vapour in the west just before light disappeared.
Back to watering the "food plot", and the 3 new trees I planted, battling the mossies in the shade of the afternoon.
Valid question DU. If you've been out of contact for a period of time it's understandable. I don't have TV, so most of what I know was only prompted by twitter videos and links, and the fact that we got rain almost every day here in Chillagoe, and I have more time on my hands than I know what to do with.
December gave us 146mm January gave us a whopping 321mm and the first 10 days of February made 156mm
Some wet seasons here didn't even make it to 300mm.
