It's not looking too good according to the BoM:

"Drier autumn likely for eastern half of Australia

- Autumn is likely to be drier than average over Queensland, NSW, Victoria, northern and eastern Tasmania, the southern two-thirds of the NT and eastern SA. In contrast, inland western WA is slightly more likely to be wetter than average.

- March is likely to be drier than average across Queensland, NSW, far eastern SA, most of Victoria and the southern two-thirds of the NT. Parts of northern Queensland have a greater than 80% chance of a drier than average month. Conversely, parts of the Pilbara and Gascoyne in WA are likely to be wetter than normal."

Not sure where to post this question.

There is a little circulation near Port Vila - and I am wondering if it is the remnant of Cyclone Oma?

Also, on Windy.com it appears that that circulation makes landfall near Townsville next Wednesday?

It then seems like there is a lot of rain on Wednesday 6th March, coming down through Budaberg and Brisbane?

Heading back home on Monday and it does not look like I have missed much.
Just had a look at the MJO forecast and it really is not looking good.
I really hope something develops as we only have this month left to get any rain up here before the dry sets in in April.

Not sure if it is the remnants, but the charts I've had a quick squizz at suggest a pretty weak trough heading west which will most likely enhance the showers along the cassowary coast. How much rain Brisbane gets would depend on how far the trough dips south I guess. You have probably the most knowledgeable bloke on these forums in the SE Qld thread in Ken Kato. I bet he'll be glad to help if he hasn't already.

Thanks Ronfishes. This little circulation seems to dance all over the place for the next 2 weeks or so.

Copperlode is just above the spillway, and Tinaroo is at 101.5%, so things are fine.

More rain, at the moment, will just be running out to sea.

We need rain so that farmers do not have to start irrigating crops early and to keep pastures green for livestock. It is not all about dam filling rainfall.

Looking forward to getting back to some humidity again. Has been hot and dry in Adelaide.

Planet X - being the never say die type of weirdo, I am still charting ExOma and yep, that's her still!
On the 25th, she was south of New Caledonia (where I noted in my log - "and nearly finished, I'd say") and now she is NW of Vanuata - honestly, she is about where she was at her very start.
The one who started making waves east of Fiji about the 26th is way south now.
I will watch to the bitter end!

Some of this rain/drizzle looks to be reaching Mareeba if not Chillagoe...

This would be the best thread, at the moment.

3mm from a brief shower late Friday afternoon.
3mm from a brief shower late yesterday afternoon.

Last rain was late afternoon Monday 25 February, these recent 2 showers aren't enough to stop watering.

The grass is still green, starting to fade. The pumpkin vine has stopped spreading.

Back home and it has definitely cooled down up here. It did not even feel humid in Cairns just cool, especially coming from 7 days of 37-41c heat in Adelaide.

GFS is starting to hint at a wet later part of March. Really hope this comes off as it is dry and dusty at home and noticed some browning off too. crazy

I seem to have lost some links along the way..
Where do I find the longer (more than a week ) GFS or other runs.

Stream showers just keep giving up here, keeping things soggy , though the arvo's have been very nice.

Cheers

Tropical tidbits is the one I like to use Bunyip.

https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis...6.6666666666666

Pretty chilly here this morning. Woke at 4am feeling cold and had to get another blanket out. Might be time for the quilt already.

Thanks Simmo , I use the Briz storm chaser GFS a lot as it go's out just over a week.
That tidbits looks pretty good too ..
I used to have a link to a 350hr + run somewhere , think it was pressures and not Precip ..

Anyway a dry morning up here, the first in a week or so smile
Might even get on to most of the lawns this arvo if it stays dry the whole day..

Cheers

Lovely coolish mornings atm, no aircon for a few days smile

GFS hinting at some wet stuff as Simmo said, seems like the MJO is gonna fade before it reaches us though?

It's been quite cool of late, and it will only be a few more weeks before the sun slips back over the equator...

A few nights a go i went outside, it was a star filled sky, but i could feel light rain, shone the torch in the air and yep light rain!
You have to winder how that works, a sky full of stars and light rain?
