Getting some light showers right now. Formed overhead moving a SSW direction according to radar.

Well my storm footage from yesterday turned out terrible. The evening sun shining behind the rain made it so bright that on my video camera the bolts got blown out ( needed higher ND filter setting) and i got the same bolts on my new go pro 7 black too. Because of itís wide angle lens the bolts 2-3 km away look much more distant, and I discovered that it probably interlaces video frames at 120 frames per second. When I super slow motioned the bolts it made them do weird stuff like part of the strike moving sideways. At least I know not to film in that frame rate again.

As for todayís storm potential the various weather models arenít in agreement. GFS has downgraded to not much at all while EC has storms for the central tablelands spreading into the hunter later. BOM forecasts seem to agree with EC.

The radar looks quite interesting this afternoon, especially 256km.

Yes. At least the possibility of some isolated heavy showers and maybe some thunder.
Radar has looked pretty average but has livened up a bit in the past hour.

Can hear some really good rumbles here now. And it's raining.
This storm season just keeps on giving.

If I die tonight it will be from dehydration, I suspect I have lost about 50 litres of fluid in sweat that sadly only makes me feel hotter than usual. Itís not even especially humid but wifey and I detest it. Canít wait to get home tomorrow evening!!

The longer Iíve lived away from the central coast the more I detest it 😆

Howdy all, catching up a bit 😁

Been so dry since January that I will drive to find cool wet weather, did exactly that several weekends back. Drove to Blackheath with wifey because we knew it would be wet n cool, BLISS 😁

Last weekend we were at Maroota (between Windsor n Wisemans Ferry) and caught a lot of the rain event of the Sydney basin, happy as a pig in (for once) MUD 😁

Loved the storm in Bathurst yesterday but not much in it for Bx, was dampish on the road last night most of the way to The Entrance. Didnít actually rain on me much, seemed to be behind it most of the way.

Actually last Thursday was interesting at tennis, there was that large stom just north of town that was dramatic with lightning, many CGís and they were big!!

Places like sunny corner just east of Bathurst have been in a sweet spot for precip this summer, we were wet in January but then the tap snapped firmly OFF. Temps too high for March. Next week though will be a step down for autumn.

At least weíve hit the equinox now, daylight saving will change soon, after that Autumn will feel much more real 👍👍

Anyhow, currently sitting sweating in humidity at central coast with 20 degree nights, dreaming of home nights already 😆😆

I will be heading home to Bx tomorrow evening 👍

After a change rattles through Tuesday we will suddenly drop to single digit nights. Autumn will be upon us in a jiffy 👍

Couple of really close flangs here. Rain rate is solid. It is quite high based Homer, lowered a little on approach. Often good cg lightning in these circumstances. Youre 5ks up the road DaveM

3.5mm and 2 very close cracks. Seeing lots of flashes over the mountains from next line as this one clears

Yep definitely high based, and in the darkening evening light, I could just see the lowering, darker storm front.
It came through like a freight train with strong winds - I could hear the winds coming through the bush near me.
Heavy rain now, yet the thunder has been sounding very distant. Lightning more than adequate. Have only heard two or three loud rumbles. The rest sound very distant, despite the continuous lightning.

Ha. I didn't even see the next line coming. I've been watching too much NSW election coverage and NRL this evening, and I've only been checking the 64km radar.
Looking forward hopefully to another round.

Hi Quaggie n Homer 😁 sitting at north entrance, listening to rumbles out the window . No breeze in the windows so my clothes well n truly stuck to me 😳 no surprises really 👍 I know if I lived here (again) I would adapt but the drier weather out home is much more comfy 😁 it will actually be bizarre when we no longer have someone here to visit. We will probably gravitate to south coast more then. At least the rumbles sound good tonight 😁

Got home a little while ago after spending today in the Hunter valley. Driving home on the M1, from around Morriset I saw a distant light show to the SW, which intensified as I headed South. It was very lightning-active, starting with sheet lightning but then some CC's, forks and chains and even a couple of CGs. I didn't hear thunder although I was expecting to, even with the engine, the traffic and the radio.

Then it started raining South of Somersby, lightly as first, big drops, but intensifying to the point where the sensible drivers had slowed down to 60 km/h. I was getting worried as there was nowhere to pull over, but then it eased off. This would be the storm that passed over Gosford around 8:00PM.

Looks as though there's been rain all the way down the North Shore.
