Lol Autumn in full force, this is what it's supposed to be. Hopefully the dams start going up with this event because evaporation has dropped off.

It's strange to make a change like that in the middle of the day before. Usually that'd only happen at the 4:20pm update.

I've seen it before it's been on events like this, it's probably to get a warning out. Because I could see localised flash flooding with this event.

***IF**** That happens then it's a game changer (even though the 100+ band is slightly north of me anything is possible). But that's a very BIG 'if'.

A coastal trough is expected to form tomorrow with strong instability especially over the Hunter, some significant turning forecast in the lowers as well. Big day of storms coming up, not to mention the water temps still being over 25C

Even if the Belrose number is wrong, if this was Sportsbet you'd definitely be able to cash out now at a profit.

In Narrabeen it's coming down fairly steady, appears we could be in this rain train for a while.

The atmosphere potential just showed itself here. Shower only lasted 8 mins, but for 2 mins it was absolutely torrential, huge drops, no thunder. 6mm

It's all good, this event can't possibly be a fizzer now if the Daily telegraph are calling it ARMAGEDDON laugh

PS: EC showing a dip in the ridge with an easterly pattern right til the end of the run. Good be a good period for E NSW, and hopefully mostly for the Hunter. There's a few small scale ECL's forecast to develop within the coastal trough

Mate you'll be the only one getting anything come winter, because with our luck we'll have an El Nino and a Positive IOD.

Hope so! Will put me on my way to a quick $300
Would like if that rain band in north sydney would shift a bit away from all the open water where It’s mostly been accumulating for some time now

I see they've ramped up the totals in the latest forecast, it's now 65-125mm for Sydney in the next two days. Totals diminish North and South and especially inland. The rain will be focussed where it's least needed, Coastal Sydney.

Those nearly stationary cells over Sydney's Northeast delivered some fairly big totals, including 45mm at Mona Vale Golf Course. That site seems to be a rain magnet.

I took the ferry trip from Circular Quay to Parramatta today. I recommend it. You get a much more interesting view of Sydney than can be seen from Parramatta Road. We took a walk to Parramatta Park. The storm damage from some weeks back is still evident, with tall trees ripped apart. That must have been some wind:
