Great now weekend is 24 degrees as well. Might as well keep it up till May at this rate. Dry as popcorn fart also , probably more fires this week.

Could chase down the April max record tomorrow and so late in the month. Still 22 degrees outside at 10:30 pm . Only 2 months till a couple of weeks of snow then straight back to the heat again.
Waters around Tasmania a nice shade of lobster red on the Enso and a anomalies charts. We are slowly stewing towards an economic and environmental disaster.

Sunday now forecast for 26 degrees in Hobart in April. There is absolutely no comparison in the weather I moved here for and what it is in the last 5 years , might as well move back to the subtopics.

Will be chasing down April record only set in 2016 of 20.4c . Once in a hundred events are now a few years or less.

Very warm Easter and another 20 c mark today another tomorrow. Currently running at 20.2c monthly average. Turning into the driest warmest boring poo hole and just gets worse by the week.
Give this another 5 years and most of Victoria and Tasmania east coast will be nothing but dust.

Well after a couple of sub par average days as expected the increase in heat will be back tomorrow. It's also going to be a 10 day run of well above May temps by the forecast ahead.
Looking forward to the 2 weeks of Winter we may ? get if we are lucky.
Good luck to any retailers trying to sell anything Winter related clothes and goods , those days are well and truly gone.

Just another thought yet another month in this case May that will include a 20 plus degree day which is more than the January or February max average.

Dear Mountain h2o:

Have you not heard of the record earliest snowfall in Western Australian history, nor the March polar front for us New South Welshmen this year? You see, I can play the same game with this matter, so watch out. Heat records may get broken—but so do records in relation with cold and snowfall; such is the nature of climate and weather.

And no, records with plainly homogenised datasets (as the BOM even admitted) and/or with extractions from UHI-influenced AWS sites, do not count, but I'll leave it at that so not to complicate your mind too much.

Lets' play that game. Compare the heat records that have been broken recently with cold records that have been broken recently.

Winner is the one with the most records broken.

Aaaaaand the heats win, go heats.

Not to mention the enormous difference in significance between months with temp anomalies 5C above avg across huge swathes of the country compared with one cold day in March in NSW and an early dusting of snow in SW WA. Yes, those cold events completely balance out our recent heat events.. Particularly when you believe the Bureau is corrupt and all the data on long term records is bogus.

It’s honestly just not worth “playing that game” on here.

Last night was the first night in 7 months to drop below 0 with a min of -0.9. Had more nights between 0 and 2 than in previous years (largely thanks to it being dry), but quite late for the first -ngv night. Hopefully more rain thurs to give the year a bit more of a boost.

Southern half of the State very dry indeed and still sustaining temps around 18 till 19 c today and coming week.
There is no shortage of Cold Fronts pushing up and across it's the continual excess of blocking Highs that are killing them off sadly.

Hi all finally got around 4.5 mm of rain however was proceeded by dry 85kmr winds from the north. Now it's back to 18 and 19 degrees and not a speck of rain nor cooler change well into next week.
No wonder all the spring bulbs are coming up pre Winter. It is basically October weather, the drought and high pressure systems are never going to end. The climate I'm afraid has reached the tipping point.

Ended up 20 plus c today in Hobart . This is not a one off day , this heat is hanging around and Saturday looks like being well over the twenties. Considering we should be seeing temp around 15 c there seems little hope of any cooling anytime soon. He r e we are the 15th and we just had the warmest day for the month so far. Is it not meant to cool down closet to Winter starting ?

Once again sadly we will chasing yet another heat record this month , and the last one only set a couple of years ago.
Long term looks like Hobart average will be at least 17c till the 25th of May. Very little chance of any rainfall as well, the place is a newly formed arid wasteland.

1979 to 1983 drought all over again, I'd say we are only up to 1981 so a few years to go before this boring warm crappie seasons break.
Meanwhile another 18 plus day here in Hobart and still 19 degrees this time next week. Insane for only a handful of weeks to Winter.
