Is anyone aware of a public domain, point cloud forecast? (Yes, I am aware of the purchased product sets that do exactly this, I use to manage the contract for such datasets for a large organisation.) I am playing with a solar PV system that has two “dump loads”, which are a hot water system and a variable speed drive on a pool pump. The name of the game with solar PV is to “self-consume”. If, say, the total cloud forecast for a certain lat/long is high in the morning and low in the afternoon, my algorithm will defer running the electric hot water system and the pool pump (on high speed) until the afternoon. If it the forecast is low in the morning, the algorithm will bring the dump load in early. And so forth.

Any suggestions as to a suitable data source?
