Night temps all over the shop, warming up by Friday then cooling down then going back up next week.

Eg Rocky 9 deg Sunday morning 17 deg the next day.

Both OCF and GFS are showing some sort of rain next Monday-Tuesday.

Some rain throughout the dry season is always welcome. It got down to 10.7c here this morning, 25.6c today. I just finished mowing and its down to 19.8c already, love this weather smile

Yeah I finished mowing too , surprised that I had to as I only mowed a week ago.

We need about 300mm to get to the average for Jan - May. Rocky only on 166mm so far this year, that's shocking. Should be 473mm to end of May.

It's definitely been dry. I had been away in Brisbane for the weekend and after the showers late last week lawn had grown a fair bit so that was fun ..

Wtf is GFS on , it's going for 83mm next Tuesday and 132mm next Wednesday for Yeppoon ! And 31mm one day 33mm the next for Rocky ????

Probably will disappear in the next update .

Must be a glitch.

Cyclone?

Yeah has similar totals for Mackay.

The odds of us getting big rains are slim though ?

Hmmm. Looks like a long line of showers from rocky to bundy on the 128 radar. Doesn't look to be much in them but better than nothing.

It's a long way out but GFS is going for a max of just 16 deg and 17 deg for Yeppoon and Rocky next Friday with SW winds.

I wonder how accurate GFS is, it's the only model going for 28 deg in Yeppoon today which we are close to and it is going for warmer night temps this week and rain from Friday.

Models back in fantasy land for a rain event late end of this week.

I suppose predict it often enough, it will happen one day.

Tuesday looks cold , feels like temps of 10-12 deg most of the day.

And all gone again. Had 0mm of rain for May. Been well over a month since any rain now.

Had not had a start of the year as dry as this since 2007, which we had 100mm fall in June.

I do not think we will get 100mm in June this year, it could end up worse then 2007.

Hi all. Hope you are enjoying the cooler weather. It has been boring here. Few drips and drops here and there but nothing useful.

I was supposed to be lounging around the outback, admiring Lake Eyre, doing fun things but hubby decided it would be a much better use of his holiday time to have a gangrenous gall bladder removed then recover at home. How dare he? grin In reality I am very grateful it happened before we had even packed the car to go and not when we were in the middle of nowhere.

I did have to jump on the mower for the house yard last week. Don't need to worry about the paddocks as the roos eat anything before it can get more than half an inch growth.

Not a cloud in the sky 22 deg no wind and washing won't get dry.

Humidity just just f off right now ....

Takes about 2 days to get washing dry at the moment.

Looking forward to a return to "winter" from this week ..

Nearly 24 hours of drizzle and we have a bit over an inch in the gauge. Unexpected but very welcome.

Now to try to put some order back in the gardens after the dogs had fun.

178mm for Rocky this year and almost July,

Hope we get some decent rain before the end of the year to make that total go up.

Not sure what the driest years for rainfall for Rocky/Yeppoon are.

Wish this wind would go , looks like it dies off tomorrow then starts up again towards the end of the week again !

GFS think it will rain from Thursday onwards on the coast and quite a lot, been wrong so often and all we end up with is windy and cloudy.

132mm on Friday GFS says and something about an upper level trough.

Sounds like something more we get in summer ?

I'm gonna be pessimistic and say 132mm turns out to be 13.2 mm and rain ends up hitting Gladstone and Wide Bay , like how many other times has it ended up going further south.

Then again this could be the big event we've been waiting months for ..

GFS still going with big falls, OCF and ADFD also showing it but spread out over a few days.

So looks like 50-100mm before Monday next week.

Interesting for winter considering this is usually the dry time of the year.

I cannot even remember the last time we had rain like this . It feels like it has been years but it hasn't.

North of Rockhampton anyway.

Models have not changed for a few runs now so are adamant the bulk will fall from Marlborough north to Mackay, then a lesser amount curving inland down to Emerald.

One would expect this close they would be pretty accurate.

Start your own social media page as others have done. The are numerous pages discussing local events up and down the Qld coast. There are plenty of positives to closing down the WZ threads. Thr climate driver thread in particular is just a place for AGW agenda now. It doesn't deserve to survive.

South Brisbane Storms is an excellent page for info regarding tbe south east corner. Ken and the lads do a great job there and it hasn't been hijacked by Mr WWB or the two people that believe his garbage .

You can promote your link on the buy and sell pages in Rockhampton. It doesn't take long to get several hundred members. I have people joining all the time and it's a locked page.

Are you sure?

Models are showing it will be mostly around the Mackay region, then curving inland and down. Southern oastal region of CQ expected to get SFA. As usual.

That would be because the models have updated since the time when I posted. They have progressively pushed it all north in the last few runs. Are you surprised somehow?

The Australian weather forum and cdweather. You will find members from here at both. Ski have a sth east Qld thread and a tropical thread. They are all sifting through the WZ exodus.

Where is everyone moving to ? Apart from Ski which has a CQ thread which is about as dead as this, AWF has a thread for tropics weather with 3 posts lol... Going to check cdweather. Edit : no thread in there for this area lol.

I think I'll give up posting if I'm gonna be the only poster in ski.com.au.

Though the weather is boring so perhaps some people here have registered at ski?

There's nothing happening weatherwise worth talking about, Vinnie.
Wait until something starts to happen and then more people will post. Maybe about November, unless an out of the ordinary event occurs.

A lot blooming chilly at home this morning.
I do hope that my mates from here will be joining us at SKI. It is nice when someone thinks of me and my ping ponging between floods and droughts. Speaking of which I have a lovely green drought going on. I might even get some grass growing if I could relocate a few mobs of roos. Yes, I know it is cold but anywhere the roos can't reach the grass is at least above ground level.

Yep the cold nights are going soon to be replaced with . 16/17 at night for Yeppoon predicted and 14/15 for Rocky. GFS predictions.

Rocky still averaging 3 deg above average for nights, not sure if the hottest July on record yet ...

GFS is going for a few mm this Saturday onwards . Maybe if lucky... on the coast not Rocky who knows...

It's basically down to your lack of understanding of the complexities of forecasting the impact of descending air Vinnie.

Well I am certainly sick of this cold dry weather.

From now to October is the worst time of the year. If you do nothing, you need a coat. If you do anything it is too hot, but take the coat off and be stationary for a short time and you are cold again.

That has been my life lately. Go out and get stuck into something and I am hot, sweaty and dirty. Stop for a few minutes though and back on with the jacket.

I hope everyone gets the weather they need soon. smile

BOM two month prediction is out and it is pretty dire. Although August and September are the two driest months of the year.

Might as well say no chance of rain. This could go down as our driest year ever.

Yep I'll be posting on Ausweatherforum from now on, assuming some weather happens in CQ which it seems to not be at the moment.
