Don't won't to boast, but had 45mm since early Monday morning, about 24mm on Monday and 21mm today.

Hobart finally got some snow on the mountain a couple of days in a row this week gone. Also some really crispy nights and mornings. Unfortunately the High pressure system continues to just sit there and is going nowhere till later next weekend. So its a return to Spring or Autumn after Tuesday, back up to ruddy 17c a few days and not much less the rest. Haven't had a decent thumbnail Low with a blow due to boring highs either. And despite a few showers to date still dry as a popcorn poo down this way.

Been a cold sequence of nights, -3.3, -2.3, -3.3 and now -4.7, Sunday night is expected to be the coldest of the lot, wondering if we'll give out lowest temp of -5.7 a shake. On track for our coldest month for average min (currently averaging 0.4, previous lowest was 0.8), but that's only in 3.5 years of records. The last couple of days could decide it...

MH2O, was down in Hobart briefly late last week and it surprising how brown things are, more a tinge of green than lush winter green. and yes, returning to mid to high teens by the end of June... well above average.

-4.9 at 5am this morning before the fog set in and it warmed up to -2.5, if not for the fog... Gravel drive frozen, ground hard as a rock and 2cm of ice on the tanks (some of it left over from the night before)

Anyway severe frost from home all the way through to Prospect (all fogged in), frost right up to the top of the trees thanks to the fog.

Pic from back of the yard looking toward the house.

Well a very over average 18c plus today in Hobart. I believe the warmest day of the month at the end June. But that is the way it rolls down this way now . More heat to come as the massive high forming Wednesday again should delete anything thing cold front for the first 10 days of what should be our coldest month. Sad old Winter once again might just as well throw my jackets in the opportunity bins.

Holy carp another 18c day in Hobart more Winter killing warm to come. First day of July dead set ridiculous 18c again forecast. Still not a breath of wind outside and still 16c at 10:00 pm .
Massive High to hang around after what is looking like another non event beat up tomorrow. Back to 17 plus degrees from Friday onwards.
Absolutely getting worse every year.

Had 38.5mm over the weekend so far, clearer today. Finished June with 96.4mm (from 9 actual rainy days, not including frost melt), up to 303mm YTD (-33mm on last year), average min was 0.7, 15 nights below 0 and 9 of those nights below -2.

Can't believe it got to 18 in Hobart yesterday, rained most of the day and breifly topped out at 12.2.

By my reckoning it's the 3rd driest first 6 months in Hobart with 129mm. Behind 1967 where 80.5mm was recorded. To be the driest first 7 months Hobart needs to record less than 15mm for July.

Got .8 of a mm in Hobart and now the sun's back again. Today's forecast looking even warmer now for the 7 days . It's just so depressing to see yet another mild dry Winter season.

Crazy set up on the latest synoptic. All the lows around 998hpa being pushed far South away by massive Highs that are 3/4 the size of Australia in the Tasman or lingering over tassie. Looks like Western Australia scores again with the cold fronts this season.

hi all had the night a Tods Corner last night, had 23mm and 34mm for the event.
Pine tree rivulet had 117mm till 9am and 23mm the day before so 140mm was a good effort.
Wish we would get some of that down south.
Snowed before I left at 10am with a light dusting settled to the West of Shannon Lagoon. Heavier showers out that way.

Hi all, been a while since i've been on here, anyway..

Not wrong there about the rain SF, we stayed up North in the Golden Valley over the weekend, where it rained all day yesterday and well into the night! Something us Southerners never seem to see much of anymore sadly.

Arrived home to Brighton around lunchtime after a nice drive on the Highland Lakes road. Plenty of snow showers and a fair bit settled even on the road around Pine Lake/Projection Bluff.

Not even a hint of rain at home unfortunately, although plenty of wind, gusts topped out at 74 km/h today and looking windy tomorrow too.

Also forgot to mention. The other morning early last week we recorded a record minimum of -7.5C. Lots of reports of frozen water lines and even outdoor hot water systems failing! (The local school even had no toilets due to them all freezing).

Looking forward to some more interesting weather in the next couple months smile

Morning all , Hobart already 15 degrees at 6:30 am. Could well exceed forecast 17c .
Wind smashed through all night negating any of the few drops of rain received in the past 24hrs.
Terrible start to the middle of Winter basically already October 🤔

Anyone want to buy a few massive High Pressure systems? As I predicted earlier in many posts that Winter once again would add up to about 10 days with from 3 months.
Still brown town Hobart with a few drops of rain a night ago.
More like Spring again today and tomorrow with another pea size low to arrive trying once again against the ever increasing High pressure syndrome we now experience.!

Looks like a few windy wet days so that will make me happy!
Just easily pleased!
Looks like some very heavy snow in the West and Central areas over the next 10 days.
PS I do feel your pain H2o.

As the forum wraps up you are to be saluted for your moaning H2O. And in honour, here is Carly Simon with, yes you guessed it, "Nobody Does It Better". Enjoy

Australian Weather Forum have recently widened their forum to accommodate a Victoria/Tasmania thread. I can recommend.
