Just wondering if the mods have quit since the close down of the forum was announced? Going by the huge man made climate change argument going on in the ENSO discussion thread which has derailed the entire thread, it is disappointing it is not being moderated.

Yes looks like it, but I can't blame them for not moderating when we don't even get told why this place is shutting down.

They appeared to have removed the reply etc buttons in the pseudo climate change thread (formerly known as enso etc lol). Seems a bit [censored] churlish. The forum is read only soon. Can't a good old ding dong be allowed for crying out loud. Let it all hang out. Whole thing is gonna disappear anyways. Why give a [censored].

Some people actually care about and respect the forum. It's been an important part of Australian weather discussion for a number of years, and means a lot to many of us. It deserves better than to have a small number of fools degrade it in its final days because there'll be no long-term repercussions.

I believe in no moderation. Short of expressions of violence against other posters.

Such great respect that they:
- didnít upgrade the forum software for 10 years
- didnít be honest why they were closing the forum
- didnít care about users in anyway and keeping the wealth of info that is stored here

Yeah, real caring, real respectful....

Admin and only the Mods listed for that particular subforum (e.g. Gen Weather, NSW, Tasmania etc.) can lock a thread (or edit/delete posts) within it.

Lets keep it tidy and maintain decorum, Mods here have always been fair and acting in the interests of users IME.

Its been great, learnt a lot, still know bgr all, but sad to see it pass on.

I have done more moderation over the last couple of weeks than I have over a year. Apart from all of the spamming posts. I have always let a heap of posts go that I felt borderline and only acted on them if a member reported them. The swearing etc over the last couple of weeks has been terrible and If I had my way there would be a few members on here that would not post again in the dying stages of the forum.
