Yes I remember sitting up all night reading cyclone threads listening to ABC radio streaming as the eye closed in. Those threads are priceless and need to be archived.

Ok, the closure of this forum is sad, but things come and go; I can accept that. The problem will be, is that everyone will be split up to three (at least) places. This place is something I discovered over 10 1/2 years ago, and back then it had something of a community feel. I haven't had a lot to do with other states, but it's clear to me there are a lot of really good people out there who go beyond the casual weather fan to help others out who are willing to learn.

Unfortunately, Facebook groups have really taken over from here, and the standout thing I have noticed is that the bigger the group is, the more the community feel is lost. And the more it attracts the casual weather followers with their "bring back summer" "bring back winter" "will it rain today?" "i heard thunder" posts.

Therefore, my main wish is that the majority of people stick to one of the forums on offer - it may help to keep the chemistry of this forum alive. Hey, perhaps start a Facebook group for WZ forumites only?

Ok guys I know a lot of you have already joined other forums but i've decided to go out and build my own aus weather forum, my hope is that we can get as many Weather Zone members on board so we can keep this community alive. Your support would be so appreciated. I am 100% behind this and promise to be very supportive and active.
Located in Adelaide or Portland Vic smile

Farewell to WZ, I have been glad to have been a very small part of this site over the years.

Thank you to all the moderators, administrators, and to the entire community here, from the experts to the everyday regulars, and the observers, and the lurkers.

Come check out the Ski weather forums for those who are looking for a place to go after the 29th of July.

Best wishes and good luck to everybody, regardless of where you go smile

Over and out from Petros.

Will miss the banter and weather updates from those not heading to Logansi's AusWF.
