Today has got a feel that something is going to happen. Very humid when walking the dog this morning. Man from BOM on radio this morning said "all" of todays action would be in the hills. Wait and see I guess.

Managed to wring another 1.1mm out of the clouds bringing the total to 5.0mm.
Couple of nice cells to NE & SE yesterday when I left work around 16:45.

couple of cells over the hills... dumped around 10mm or so on Woodside and Lobethal. Probably 18.5-19 mm at its core. A lot of run-off which was gone and/or evaporated within 30 mins of sun coming out.

I smelt something in the air last night that I hadn't in a long time, a real freshness, it was like I could smell the moisture in the air, the compost living. I called my old friend KM who used to be a weather presenter, he suggested to me not to water anything and clean my gutters. He also mentioned scattered storms from tomorrow afternoon/evening were possible which could last 24 hours or more followed by pockets of torrential rain Thursday/Friday/Saturday. After I fell to the floor and had my wife pull me up, I said that is like classic opera through a powerful sound system, music to my ears.
I would be taking his advice, he's pretty good and rarely on the right side of wrong. The one and only Keith Martyn? I always liked to hear what he had to say. Certainly an interesting period coming up, good falls likely, especially out east. Thursday looking a little thundery perhaps, again especially out east and also further west. TS
