1.1mm got shaken out of the clouds with last night's/this morning's fantastic light and sound show. Best storms for a long time.

Got some half reasonable photos for a change. Will have to see when I get a chance to download them.

I managed to capture one of the earlier sunset storm's flashes on video - within a couple of seconds of pressing the shutter ... a first wink

https://imgur.com/8n1yBW9

When that storm drifted off away to the south-east, I figured that was it for the night and subsequently nodded off before midnight, sleeping soundly through the early morning storm(s?) which tripped off our power momentarily. Woke to warm room, a quiet A/C and the Mrs telling me how loud it all was sleep frown

some contribution to that temperature would have come from the house itself.

Similarly my maximum temps recorded under a densely foliaged fig tree could be a few degrees cooler due to evaporation of moisture from the leaves. It is however still the best spot to place my thermometer in the absence of a proper screen.

Is it just me or does it seem like were now stuck in a consistent southerly airflow that has snuffed out our chances of a run of really hot February days as far as i can see for this week the highest its only going to get is roughly 36 on Wednesday and 34 on Thursday then back down to 27 on Friday

seems like we are in the doldrums weatherwise. I'm really sorry everyone. We were getting rain reasonably frequently there for a while... then I had to go and install my rainwater tank a couple weeks ago. Since then South Plympton has managed to nail pretty much every gap between the downpours.
