Yawn sums it up perfectly.....followed by fist thump down on to desk with audible dammit. I've been here for quite a few years now and this feels like the quietest it's ever been....

Hope something interesting is just around the corner to spark this place back to life, no pun intended 😀

why thank you barb, it's nice to receive a compliment from
such a bright and cheerful person.
most will be pleased to hear i'm not back, simply snuck out
from under my pet rock for some fresh air and clandestine
sniping. need to watch what i say though, the SS are everywhere.
weather's as boring as what you make it, while its been fine
and dry here there's been plenty happening over the fence 'on
the neighbors patch'. after the summer of bollocking in 16/17
this summer has been refreshingly straightforward and mundane.
the tide of bollocking will return along with the pain and
ecstasy, complaints and glee so don't sweat it trendsetters,
things will happen soon enuff.
now.....there's a rock with my name on it around here
somewhere......

Ahoy Thunda long time no hear your presence has been missed on here yes the weather this summer has been pretty much straightforward and mundane although last year in late November we had a week of the high 30's to low 40's with our big encore being that severe weather which packed a wallop big time producing ball tearing lightning storms and a white knuckle ride rain wrapped tornado of which cause mayhem and chaos for my neck of the woods

Im pretty sure everyone is suffering from a case of storm deprivation syndrome considering summer is normally our best time for dry lightning storms at night once nocturnal cooling kicks but given our marrow boiling summer this year coupled in with no breezes lacked the right atmospheric conditions so any storm potential was either snuffed out or mainly confined to the Mid North and no mans land

Appears to be wet stuff falling from the sky in CBD: not sure what's going on, will investigate and get back to you.

The good news is a negative IOD amongst other things looks to eventuate for a wet year from about June onwards. In the meantime it looks like an average April, and a dry May to put up with.

Bit unstable out there for next 2 days. Prob see 1-2mm this arvo/evening, and 2-5mm from a front sliding along the coast overnight Saturday into Sunday. Slight chance a rumble in amongst all that between now and Sun am.

In terms of lack of posts, yer combination of lack of weather and the fact most people use social media now as its more interactive. Its not just the SA forum either.

A light shower here, and the radar looks nice but the observations for the East Eyre Peninsula at this stage are less than 0.5mm.

As for forums, I think they are still an excellent form of information sharing. This is coming from an avoid-er of all things social media, but when something is worth discussing and the forum is well moderated, they are worthwhile. I guess with a number of specialised forums, there is a great deal of information already shared and as long as you are not too lazy, you can read through old posts and actually learn something.

I look forward to getting home and finding that my new rainwater tank is, against all expectations with this stuff coming from the sky, still dry.

or i probably left the tap in the on position or something like that.
