Gday all

I thought id start a new thread off, more for the fact that im curious to know than anything..

Yesterday i noticed the fuel prices have jumped up alot from 82.9c per litre TO 95.5c per litre, mad thats for both deisel and unleaded and over $1.00 for premium unleaded..

Those prices are at our local servos here in Nowra. mad

What im curious to know is 2 things;

1)Has anyone noticed the price of fuel has jumped up alot in their area, and to what and from?

2)IF!! the war goes ahead in Iraq, will the fuel price again go up like it did back in 91 when Desert Storm was going..

Interested to read your posts..

Thanx everyone..

Craig

In Sydney, fuel prices seem to jump about 8-10c at about Tuesday noon. Where I stay anyway.

As for the war, I'm pretty sure fuel prices will rise as a consequence of rising oil prices. Then they will fall again afterwards, I guess. That's if the US don't pipe it all back home before then... mad

The ULP price here jumped to 94.9c Thursday evening. The trend in recent weeks has been that the price stays high over the weekend, then gradually tapers off to 83.9c by Thursday morning, only to jump by 10c again later that day to catch the weekend traffic.

I think our bowser prices are still tied to the world oil market price. This means any armed conflict in Iraq will have an impact on our domestic prices even if we don't buy any oil from Iraq.

I don't take much notice of when fuel goes up or down. Here in Cooma, the price of unleaded at the Woolies station is 99.9c and leaded is $1.01 a litre.

A cynical observer might be of the opinion that oil companies thought a lot of people might be travelling this weekend - lead up to footie finals and all

Fuel prices are creeping up again arnt they.

Last week,as you said unleaded fuel was 82.9C down here, but its now 94.9c/L.

Thats 12cents more per litre. If you want 20 litres of fuel, you have to pay $2.40 extra, and if you want 50litres of fuel, then you have to pay $6 extra. Its pretty unfortunate, especially if your down on money.Unfortunatly, fuel prices should creep up more,to over a dollar for unleaded. No use complaining,I guess.Theres nothing you can do.

At the SHELL servo at Bellbird, Cessnock today, 95.9 ULP, 97.9 LRP/SUPER, 99.9 Premium ULP, 97.9 DIESEL. They are about the standard price's around Cessnock for the last two weeks. Why not pay a bit more for fuel  , it would be worth it to give a bit of stability to the world if we can take out Saddam and his terrorist buddies.
Just my opinion!
Mick Cole.

it seems to go up around 10c in the middle of the day round the beginning of the week. perhaps taking advantage of those who drive round all w/e and then have to get petrol to get to and from work on monday. i've been paying round 97.9ish for my ULP. it's heaps of money. good thing it's a reasonably small car with incredible fuel efficiency.

this is my little car

I live between two service stations, about 400m apart. The BP is displaying a price of 89.9c for unleaded, and the Caltex is displaying a price of 98.8c per litre for unleaded. I can't work them out. Naturally there is a mile long queue to get fuel from the BP. Prices here usually go up early tuesday mornings and start to come down wednesdays.
