Well, that was fun - not, well sorta wink 21mm from that. see graph below..

Drains in paddock and around house could not cope. So the shed filled up with water, the patio was under water, the water was just starting to flow under the carport and we just stopped the water from reaching the house. Lucky! Have not had it like that for some time and certainly not this year. Just as well we were home methinks .. phew ...
Took a few pics which will post up as soon as I have dried off and changed me laugh undies

fantastic!! Most of the band looks to be sliding along just south of me! How convenient.

Reckon some hills areas will now get 30mm from this by tomorrow. BOM now going for rain periods in hills as well.

Reports of flooding & house damage caused by falling trees in Aberfoyle Pk.

You certainly were in the right place, we are only just up the road and nearly missed out completely - only 2mm for us.

WOW! Going over the radar archives it was in narrow but intense lines. This "little drop" takes me to 35mm since saturday and a nice 216mm in total for July. What a contrast to last months teeny little 39mm!

My kids were swimming today, 27C and water temp was 21C at Sunshine Coast. Amazing difference to what I have been used to!

I think the weather gods have been listening to you!

I just got 1mm. The edge of it skirted me frown And in the paper this morning it said that Pooraka has had its driest may, june, july three month rainfall since 1914. Looks like that will stand frown But good for those who got some, I hope not too much damage was done!

Holy moley Tim. eek No such luck up this neck of the woods, dry as 100 year old bones in the middle of the Simpson Desert. frown

Hard to imagine you've had 10 times the amount of rain that we've had for July. Just a mere 21.1mm here and the driest July since we've been here. frown

It looks as if all of Tim's Christmases have come at once. eek
No such luck here. 2mm only since 9am this morning. That line split wide open as it passed over me ... just a light shower was all I got.
But the rain sure sounds good on the roof laugh

Morning peoples.... A morning update. No more rain overnight so July's total stands at 216mm. Its amazing how patchy this month has been and for the first time I can remember this has been the place to be rainwise. This is also the highest July total I have recorded at this location. Previous best was 170mm in '93. However in 1995 Meadows Town had 284mm. I have no records for 1995 in this spot.
Anyway, the years rain graph is interesting..

The water has mostly drained away and the dam is at its highest level in 2 years. Just over half full. We have no creek runoff so it is entirely dependant on rainfall and is in many ways a giant gauge of rainfall conditions. That it used to fill most years up until about 6-7 years ago is telling. The shed is still a bit damp underfoot but will dry out in good time. Am cleaning gutters today let me tell you! LOL Otherwise no harm done!

Helen, you are not the only one to miss out. My cousin in the big smoke reports that it is still dusty under his big tree in the backyard and they got a few light drizzles last night...

Cheers,
Tim laugh

Oh that is garbage. I didn't even know of all this action as was glued to LOTR3 on the TV last night, only receiving 0.2mm in light tripe and u south lot score flooding and the works. Was wondering what radar would look like after seeing some solid rapidfire totals in southern AWS's this morn....but we'll get u southerners back in spring and summer with all the GOOD stuff mad

BTW my uncle lives at Aberfoyle Park so will be interesting to see what he has to say about it all.

TS cool

3.4mm to 9am, making it 45.0mm for the month.

Looking over the past 7 months rainfall data it looks more like a temperate climate's statistics. Averaging around 50mm I guess but nothing too low or nothing too spectacular (so far laugh )

Well, no more rain overnight here either so just the 19.5 smile Brings July to 71.5 and the year 300.5 - only an inch down on average so not too bad.

Some small miracle gave us 3mm overnight, so that gives us 24.1mm for July, the driest since recording here (10 years). Let's hope August is more bountiful. smile
