Gday all..

I headed out just on 6am this morning, put the boat in at Broughton Creek, fished the mouth of the creek and in the main river at first..

I went up to the T-Junction and had a drift for a few Flatties and bream, there was plenty of chopper tailor around and a few of my lures got distroyed by them..

Headed towards Greenwell Point and i got 6 FLatties all around the 45/55 cm and i got 3 decent size bream too..

Nothing on white bait or lures,,all on 1/2 pilchards..

All round,,,an excellent days fishing, and a mild sunburnt too..

Craig

Hi Craig, good to see u r getting such good fishing ATM - nice lizzards ur getting there - they r one of our favourites - dipped in egg & rolled in bread crumbs - pure delight!!!!!
i have'nt been fishing much lately, i'm suffering from dizzy spells caused by inner ear troubles - i seem to get car sick & sea sick very easily, never had this problem be4. i went out with my mate 2 weeks ago for a little 2 hour session - he caught 3 big KG's real kidney slappers, but apart from that it was very slow - again we have bad water temps - very warm currents coming along the south coast - shouldn't be here & keep a lot of fish further out to sea to get cooler water....
so enjoy them while they r biting Craig & have a good Xmas wink  Tony.

Winter inshore. You will get them offshore on the reef all year Darumbal. The trick inshore in winter is to be out amongst them before first light.

1/2 stick of gellignite and a 5 millisecond det.

Took a mate of mine from Toowoomba to the barra farm in Townsville and between us we caught 34 barra in 58 minutes out of 5 different dams.
Most around the 2kg mark. Kept 2 and released the rest. Not bad for $16.50 each for an hour and 4 buckets of bait a $3.00 each. Last time I caught a wild bara was 1983 fishing for whitting.

I caught my first legal sized fish in 10yrs last week. Was with my usual fishing pal (Bender) in his Cruise Craft 580 Outsider, we did an overnighter in an area know as Joan's Patch about 6 NM NE of Perforated Island. We were drifting some live and dead baits over some good looking shows on the sounder when my line went off. I wound in a 78cm Shovelnosed Shark. We are still eating the beautiful white fillets from it tonight. Yum.

The grunter are on the flats outside the creeks now after the rain. I did well on them a couple of weeks ago in the Mulgrave river.

Nice chewing too.
