I was riding across Spit Bridge this morning and was stunned to see lines of swell rolling up Middle Harbour. Once I got higher up to Balmoral you could see waves breaking at all the inner harbour beaches and massive waves rolling through the heads. Makes me wonder what the more exposed ocean beaches were like. Any reports?

morning gusty and all. The swell peaked up here yesterday arvo at about 10/12 feet with some bigger sets. This morning down to 8/9 feet with sets +10 feet. Really worth a look if you can get there.

Deadmans/Winki at Manly was pretty damn good yesterday, probably around 8ft on the biggest sets. There is a photo on www.realsurf.com.au today. I caught a few nice ones, although it would have been nice if the crowd was down a little.
I'd say beaches more exposed to south swell would have been quite large yesterday (10-12ft).
Today Maroubra was around 6-8ft, maybe slightly bigger (Lurline Bay (Big wave spot) didn't appear to be breaking properly though).
Had to be content with surfing a 4ft beachbreak at Coogee this morning (it was great to have a surf on my own too, a rare thing in Sydney!).
I have checked the charts, but I ssume there will still be a little bit of swell about for the early again tomorrow. Can't wait!
Alex

Got it in one Alex. Had to work anyway and after a quick runaround wasn't missing to much anyway. Banks just couldn't handle the size or direction. I was almost tempted to cut work and take a quick trip up north (but got an attack of the guilts when the postie delivered the credit card bill laugh )

Yeah,it was pretty big today. Not massive, but probrably the second biggest swell of the year.It was a solid 4 metres on the south coast, but there were bigger waves that were probrably nudging 5metres.The wind was good too, early in the morning.A great day of surfing for the brave.
