Hi guys, I haven't posted in a while but I thought I might keep a running thread updating surf conditions in my local area.

Surf conditions weren't that bad today, considering the swell had dropped a bit overnight. There were still some good sets to be had around Dicky/Currumundi. The larger sets got up to about 3ft, but conditions were clean with the offshore SW'ly blowing during the morning. Water is still fairly warm around 21 degrees and overall it was worth getting out.

Tomorrow should offer similar conditions with perhaps the swell increasing a little. The BOM is going for increasing swell to 1.5metres. I think with the Southerly direction, Moffats Point will be good on the low tide and incoming tide in the afternoon.

A combination of easterly swells have kept the Queensland coastline very active over the last few days, but freshening SE winds have confined the best waves to the points from about mid-morning onwards. Queensland’s surf outlook is quite dynamic, with a strong high pressure system currently moving into the Tasman Sea. The monsoon trough located in the Northern Coral Sea is slowly advancing southwards, and a low pressure system is expected to develop in the Coral Sea over the next 24 hours. This low is anticipated to supply plenty of swell to the southern Qld coastline throughout the forecast period.

Tow surfer - you're copying that text straight off Swellnet's forecast (which I spent three hours preparing). If you're going to do this, please reference anything you source, rather than make it look like you wrote it yourself.

Sorry to nag - but this had already been pointed out in another thread where you did the same thing.

Hey Guys,
Just been down to Mooloolaba/Alex to check out the surf - There were a couple of Jet Ski's towing guys into the waves - insane - but makes the take off easy!
Mooloolaba was 5-8' Carties was out of control - there were a few brave souls surfing across the River mouth - about 200-300m off the breakwalls - MAD!
Should be good tomorrow.

Noosa was a sea of white water - breaking 100mm out from boiling pot - the sweep must be huge.

Mark

Actualy, Alex is doing the Vic/SA and WA forecasts whilst I'm doing NSW and Qld. We haven't been able to code the database to reflect who's doing the forecasts yet, and it's defaulting to Alex's name at the moment. However, I'm sure he's happy for the extra credits laugh

And it's been massive here today, around 10' or so on the open beaches. Biggest surf I've seen here in a long time. Pity there's nowhere to surf when it's like this! (unless you have a ski, and even then you'd want some confidence in the lineup.. saw a few tumbles this morning)

well up here in north qld aint bad for a surf. Mackay has some of the biggest tidal ranges on the east coast of Australia and when tide against wind it makes a turbalent affect which makes waves stand up. Ive been hammered by the waves recently. Also try Midge Point which is great on a high tide. Theres a channel which drains out at low tide good for the kids while u go for a surf on the eastern side
