Oh yeah,we get lulls.Especially in summer.

Some lulls can last for about 2 weeks, but there was a period 2 years ago, where it was under 1FT for a month. This can get really annoying sometimes. At the moment we are in one of those lulls, and its lasted for 4 days.It doesent look like getting much better either.

What about down your way.Do you get long periods of complete flatness. smile

Not that very often PT,

It really depends on the frequency of cold fronts or onshore wind patterns from the southern ocean here and moon ect... smile

However we just went through a lull for about 6 days last week, its improved again now.

I guess weve had good waves this summer.Usually summer is basically small for 80-90% of the time.I shouldent gripe-winters on the way,and winter is my favourite season for surfing. smile

Mad tyeper lol! laugh Im a fast typer but not a huge poster, although near 1000 now so maybe i am mad shocked

Anyways, that change has stirred things up a bit now the south coast has worked well in 5ft swells with nothing under 3ft. Metro is full of chop, but the mid coast (Southport) is okish around 3ft, spilling breaker.

Too cold ATM, only 17 ATM here was 39 yesterday.

These cold fronts this summer have packed a nice punch, really bringing up some nice strong swells from the southern ocean, this one no exception right now.

Swell shall be maintained over the course of the weekend in onshore winds, but as winds turn moe offshore, it will be perfect. Currently 6ft still but becoming messy as 30 knot S/SW winds become established.

Yep have a good break Pt, keep on catching those waves!

Well Karl, hows the surf down VIC today? Pretty rough but full of chop? Just like SA ATM with that cold front and deep low sending some pretty good swell lines up the Southern Ocean. Currently 5ft At middelton and a Waits its nearing 8ft. Solid SW wind too gusting to 40knots down there. parawa near Waits is only 14 today!

Hey Lennie,

Its big and messy here ATM, around 8ft on the Phillip Island coastline, and 6ft around the Mornington Penisula.

It is going to be a great weekend particularly Sunday with winds tuning SE and things cleaning upo just a tad, but next week unfortunatley the winds will turn offshore and then everyone will miss out on the best surf mad

Those 4-6m swells sound ok near Robe and surrounding areas! I also heard that a ship on its way to Adelaide has been delayed due to 11m waves! 11m!!!!!! eek eek holy cow man thats bloody massive! Imagine surfing that! Geez id hit the bottom of the ocean on a total wipeout!

BTW the ship is off the coast of Portland in Bass strait.

Terrified,

I would love to hear your reports, just post them when you can, Michael was very dedicated in his reports in that he posted 2-3 times a day, which I appreciate very much, so you can go at your own pace or the same, just post when you can, thats what everyone does, and we do appreciate the info smile

Whats the situation ATM on the south coast? Still flat as a tack!!!!!!!

Waves are still high with gale force west-southwesterly winds smile

Hi fellas! Looking the norm around the South Coast at the moment 4dt most places, with about 6ft at Waits. Nothing great elsewhere, Glenelg is 1ft and Southport near 3-poles is better at 2ft.
And it loks as if things will flatten out more in the coming day b4 rising again on wed.

Lennie,

Well Done on 1000 posts cool

Yeah a pretty dissapointing weekend here than what was forecast, winds have persisted in being onshore and it has been cold and cloudy....YAWN what boring conditions.

Anyway things certainly seem to be improving later in the week by around Friday, Monday is a go, if your that desperate for a surf :p

Nah wont have time now gotta go to uni and it takes about 1 hour to get there 2 hours by bus. Im stuck on my L's so i cant drive there. Ive gotta get up at 6:00am catcha bus at 7:00am and get there for 9:00am. Im just praying that I dont get put in the prac class that finishes at 9:00pm cause if I am ill be complaining pretty quick back at em. I wouldnt get home till probably midnight cuase there are no buses at those hours.

Ill be well and truly stuffed by the end of 1 day let alone 5 and if we continue our run of no storms it will only make things worse.

I need a job too gotta get some money. Do u work?

I certainly do work. I work at KFC (FTG on radar exactly smile ) and I have held that employment for 2 years now and I am training to be manager so I can hold down hours while I am in uni, cause as you know, when your an 18 y o casual worker your too expensive therefore they dont give you hours.

I am still at school this year, but next year I will probably wont been seen on the forum as ofen although i will visit as I will probably have withdrawals :p smile smile

Surf here today is pretty alright. 3-4ft and a light wind, tomorrow morning looks absolutley divine with light offshore winds and swell kicking up to 5ft on a 7am high tide mad and I have school mad

Ahwell will have some storms to compensate that though smile

Looks like the big swell in VIC will be maintained in the outlook period with the strong and gusty SW flow developing late tomorrow, so its shaping up to be an alright late weekend

Ashton i can see where u r comin from man but hey whatza problem wiva bus eh big fella? It does me for now anyway, then when i get a job I will have ze dough to sustain myself and get a car. You dont think i wanna car? Course I bloody wanna car! Hell man, my first dream just about. So simply I need a job which can give me the money to get a car. But first things first like uni fees and food. I eat way too much, but I never tip over 70.

Karl, whats it like in VIC today? Pretty flat in Sa apart from some weak chop with the seabreeze.

When the first big systems of winter start to make their presence felt then the big clean sets will work in.

BTW, Uni pretty cool, some good chicks there unlike school fulla blokes...UGH!!!
