Hello Karl,

Yeah, its been rather hot here.A southerly change has cooled things off though. Its only 19C now. smile Sydney is still on 30-31C at 10:00PM.It will be a tough night for sleeping up there. eek

The surf here continues to be flat.We have occasionally been get 1-2FT swells, but these have been weak with a short period. The long-term outlook doesent look too great either.Flat looks likely for another week.

Well they can have they're disgusting 30C weather and I will have the rain.

Looking pretty average too with very weak fronts, and not a lot of ground swell. Tides are a little out too.

Well a small wind-swell has managed to develop. Its about 1-3FT,but the NE'ers are on it.Conditions are farely usless, but there could be a few fun ones tomorrow morning,as a southerly change approaches. You could have a bit of fun,in those protected southern corners.

As I said, its small but atleast its ridable. frown

Hmmm,I will have to dis-agree with you at this stage.I think we could get swell by Sunday.I think its looking OK at this stage,as a weak low could develop in the tasman sea.At this stage,I cant say how big it will be.It could be flat. frown
I still think were in with a chance of some swell, especially on sunday.

I want this flat spell to end.Im spending too much time on the sk8-board on weekends. smile
I sk8 3 hours a day during the week too.Im a skatersurferfreak. laugh

Or a freak all together :p

Yeah could be a goer, the swell could get up to about 3-4ft if your lucky.

This system could generate some generous swells over VIC on Saturday morning.

Yeah,I am a freak. Its nothing to be ashamed about. smile frown laugh

I admit this week-end isnt looking epic, for NSW.I still think there could be just enough swell to get me off my sk8-board.A southerly change of 20-30knots,is expected for Saturday.Maybe this will pump the swell up a little.

Hello Karl and thunderstruck,

Well this weekend is looking pretty interesting.
A weak low will develop off the east coast.Tomorrow we should see 25/35knot southerlys develop. The swell should increase tomorrow, and I am expecting Sunday to be quite good.
It wont be massive size-wise,but Sunday could see 2-3metres at those places that get full south swell. Its enough to get me off my sk8-board. smile

Well I had a good surf today.
Its was a solid 2 metres, with westerly winds.I ended up going to Bawley Point again.
We got some nice barrels, close to rocks.
The predicted s/sw change to 35knots,didnt eventuate. The wind remained under 5knots all day!!!.

Tomorrow morning,I may go out again depending on the surf report.Hopefully it will be bigger than today.

Hello Thunderstruck,

Yeah,a pretty nice low should develop. As you said,983hp isnt bad for summer.Enjoy the swell, when it comes. smile

I got another sweet surf in today.I ended up going to Red-sands,south of Wollongong.
The swell was 2-3metres at south facing beaches, but it was only a metre at Redsands. It was fully off-shore though, and some of the barrels were pretty square.I managed to hit the rock bottom a few times, and I got a few cuts on my hands.Nothing serious though, and its all part of the fun.

Tomorrow could be good again, but it should start dropping.

Few cuts and bruises! Shows ur willing to go for it smile

One good thing about this time of year is that the water isnt so friggen cold down here! In winter its pretty painful jumping off the rocks and into the surf, especially on the South Coast in areas like Bullies and Middleton. Stuff the eclipse lol ill be crusin the south coast and also the mid coast I guess for a good surf, and once the wind dies down we shoudl hopefully see some cleaner surf, that low is gunna make it pretty choppy from 2moro onwards, then maybe thurrsday it should start to become a little cleaner, depends how slow moving it is.

Cheers, Len cool

Good low building late this week could send swells up to 7 foot around the open western and eastern coasts and 4-5ft along the central coasts.

Hello Karl and thunderstruck,

How cold do you think the water temps get during the winter months, down in VIC/SA.
It got down to 14C here in September, but surely the water temps get much colder than that down south.Tasmania would be even worse.

Hell yer it can get very cold, some areas off the Sotuhern Coast (Victor Harbour) it is usually 10-12 degrees and off Ki can eb as low as 8-9. Thankfully it warms up in summer to about 16-18.

Had one helluva amount of wind last night, change in now, wsw winds 15knots or so but will pick up as the low deepens

Those water temps sound pretty chilly.
We have it pretty easy, compared to you guys.

Today,I got another nice surf in.Unfortunatly I couldent leave until late,so I couldent go to my planned destination,as the NE'er was already on it.I went to a nice protected reef-break,and got some nice shoulder/head high waves.
The swell should decrease, but there will be something around tomorrow.

What are your thoughts about this low.Do you think SE NSW could get a little something out of it.Victoria and SA,certaintly looks like getting a nice helping of swell out of this system. smile

This system should dive southeast of TAS Michael, however as it does that it will allow a more general gale force SW/W flow to develop across the southern states.

Swells could maintain 6ft to the weekend, allowing for the warmer and calm conditions to do they're job and create some awesome waves.

Great to hear that you got a good surf in today too. Quite a rarity :p

Good evening Karl,

Yeah I had a fun surf today. This whole weekend has been fun,as I have had several good surfs.
Unfortunatly its now dropping pretty quickly, and we'll be back to small conditions. It has been a good swell, with some solid 2-2.5metre sets.
