South east surely would have some options, never been that way but surely there's be plenty of potential.

I'll be about on the south coast over the next few days at some stage, gotta fit a surf in around work.

Yeah i'll be at the Dump for the dawnie tomorrow, and I know a few places around the bottom of the South East but not many between Robe and Beachport, does anyone have any hints or tips of where I should check out?? I don't have a 4wd so it will have to be restircted to 2wd tracks only.

Well checked around Beachport but nothing was working, too big and not right tide for Cullens and too small for the beachie around the southern end where it was clean. Checked behind beachport but there aren't many surfable waves there although lots of reef and breaking waves. Surfed a glassy fun 3-4' Stonies on Sunday arvo till dark and then hit it again Monday but it was too big.

It took 10 minutes to paddle out, luckily I got a gap between the sets but once out there it was a very solid 5ft with the odd 6er eek I just scraped over a 6ft set and thought that I better hit in as the banks were shifty and it wasn't the safest being the only guy out.

So went around near the Obelisk, some doorway rock lookout and surfed a real ledgey sucky left which was only 1-2ft but a few rides had nice shape. So it was a pretty good trip with the arvo surf at stonies being alot of fun smile

Nice pics, looks crisp and quite inviting. no. 4 looks fun, how big is it? Hard to judge from the pics.

I had a good surf monday with light winds and surf well in the 5ft range at knights. Got some sick waves, good to get into something more solid after a few disappointing weeks.

Plenty of swell coming through this week, shame about the winds though!

Number 2 and 4 are in the 3-4' range and number 3 is around the 2-3' mark.

I didn't spend alot of time waiting to get good shots of the waves but just let me say that they were spitting and throwing over everywhere, especially Monday morning when it was in the 5-6' range.

Has been a fantastic flat spell for the east coast of australia. seems like its been over 3 weeks since we've had a wave over 2ft.
will the drought end any time soon?

I think saw you out and Middleton today Sasurfer, regocnised you from that pic you posted when you broke ya jaw. Anyway was gonna paddle over after i grabbed a set and say hi, looked around later and you were gone.

I was out there from about 11:30 till 1:30pm riding the 9ft yellow mal with the stripe down the centre.

How sweet was it! 4-5ft Ocasionally getting close to 6ft. Sets died a little later but it was pretty much perfect muddleton. Wish it was bigger I want to surf middleton at 10-15ft on a mal laugh If it ever gets that big and offshore Ill paddle out near chicker run or something, even if you only got one wave it will be worth it.

Haha, no shiz, yeah I was out there from about 11.30 till 2.00 and it was pretty good for middleton ay.

I sufed the dump from half hour before sunrise till about 10.15, it was a nice clean glassy 2-3' but dropped in consistency and size during the morning. Then yeah got lunch and checked the bay and there were big long clean lines rolling in. A pretty long paddle but worth it, some of the walls just wen't forever and were so carvable, it even had a bit of punch behind it with the more southerly swell direction.

Did you head out again in the arvo? It was a little smaller and a bit more inco but the tide seemed to make it better. It was easier to get on the waves and they had a bit better shape/wallier and were feeling the banks a bit better. I got a left from all the way out back right into the inside of the bay infront of the rocks eek Got so many turns in cool

So yeah that was me and a yellow mal doesn't really ring a bell as there were so many mal's out there laugh

Oh and yeah it would be cool to surf it at 10' or bigger, paddling from chicken run would be a must, you wouldn't have to paddle far though I reckon to get out the back, then just catch a massive right all the way from back behind sui's all the way past the point laugh

Missed the early cause of work, checked dump when i got there bout 11am but it was pretty crowded and quite abit smaller by then compared to early i would guess.

Anyway you must of been buggered, your morning sesh sounded pretty long then to have 2 more laugh

EDIT heh heh yea there was alot of mals.

Haha gold, yeah I dropped in her cause I thought she was too deep but then looked back and she was just sitting in the pocket while I was playing on the face. I appoligised for getting in her way but she said it was fine and it was a good party wave. Anyways yeah we just talked for the rest of the session and got along heaps well. Had lunch at Port Elliot Bakery with her and her friends and then when out for another surf together.

She hasn't been out to waits or parsons much cause her friends are a bit hesitant about it so she grabbed my number so I could take her out there soon laugh It's the first time iv'e ever got a number out in the surf before, and the first time from an asian girl..

But she was cool and I hope to take her around the West of Victor soon smile

Oh and next time don't worry about being the third wheel, come and say hi smile

I was at Henley for some stormy action wednesday, was pushing close to 3ft with some fun wedges. There was an embarassing amount of kooks out there though.

Oh and nice work sa, turning your accidental drop in into something positive!

Yeah I'll proabaly hit up Victor for Sunday, looks too big for Waits and Parsons though, might be good for the bay. Saturday looks a bit dicey wind wise so i'll get some uni work done then.. yeah right :p

And how do you mean heaps of kooks stokie? Where they getting in the way or just dropping in and having no idea. And did you have to jump off the jetty to get out as Henley? I remember surfing Brighton 2 years ago and it was near impossible to paddle out as the sweep down the beach and washing into the beach was insane!

Oh and look at the low forming this time next wink week, lets see if it eventuates :bounce:

Yeah there were drop ins and countless other lids with no flippers just getting in the way and not really catching anything.

Off the jetty is the only real option, the paddle out is way too hard. Maybe if you get a short ride you can paddle back out but yeah if its a long one you need the jetty.

Sunday is looking like the day for me to. its good to see autumn is kicking into gear.

Surfed low tide dump with just me and a mate for 1.5hrs Sunday morning, was around the 2' mark and quite wally/sucky till everyone else came out and it went to crap basically. So glad we got the best of it.

Then went and surfed out the back of the bay again and it was clean with a little bit of easterly lump at 4' with the odd bigger set and alot of fun.

Here's some pics..

yeah nice pics, the first 2 and the last 2 are sick. I was out at knights but missed the early so went for an arvo, was great fun and had that wicked autumn feel to it.

Should be some more swell for us this weekend, but winds are pretty shifty.
