For those that aren't aware of the site, I just found Buoyweather.com . In particular, the Aust regional map forecasts are interesting.

Hi David, yes i have used this site for fishing swells - quite reliable - someone posted up another site called oceanbouys or such like which i had a lot of trouble getting into - but then again that could have been my fault eek
 FE

One the nice features of the site is the useful features is the text GFS run output you can pre configure to email. Works well for access at sea when you dont have enough bandwidth for getting graphical info without a lot of pain.

Hi Mad Maury,
I never take the info from this site as gospel but combined with all the resources available it's quite handy in Weekend and leisure time decision making.

Hi Jefferson. I reckon an email to the actual website in question might prove more successful rather than a post on a weather forum... wink

Buoyweather is great, just wish they were a little better at forecasting sea breezes, sometimes they don't show up at all, now I generally try to factor it in myself and with the weatherzone and BOM forecasts u cant generally go wrong, SPOT on with swell sizes, even 3 days ahead, the 7 day is pretty good too

I do not think it is weatherzones site so they can't do anything about it.

The reason the Buoyweather graphs don't show sea breezes is because it is raw global model data pulled from the nearest grid point. The global models don't represent local circulations well at all (the same goes for the WZ GFS meteograms in fact). Look to the BoM 2-day and BoM 3-day graphs on WZ if you want to get the timing of the sea breeze.

Must say the seabreeze.com.au tidal graphs bring back some memories for me though! wink

Aah a new slant on the sky is falling panic, "The ocean floors are rising" I mean come on, who writes this stuff? And even worse is who believes this nonsense to start with?

'should' be possible to check 'previous' data from this bouy when it comes back online...ROM believes it must have been faulty data....may well be...still i find the 'scientific' prejudice on data interesting...especially if it doesnt fit your favorite models....the fact we're 'surfing' on 'floating' plates makes this possible in my mind...still i choose to kept my mind 'OPEN' on many things, & would be concerned if high tech equipment tells me data like this.....for two reasons....1. if its correct...& 2. If this early warning bouy is malfunctioning....

A 328 foot rise in the sea floor would have to happen because of geologic activity of some sort. As none has been reported and no immediate convergence of geologists from all over the world descending like hordes of locusts on the new and sudden rising of the sea floor I would put it down to a simple reporting error.

Surfing the tectonic plates? Have you done any study of geology at all in any way, shape or form? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plate_tectonics average movement per year is 2.5cm or about how quickly your finger nails grow. Hardly what I would call 'surfable'.

like i said...MAY WELL BE....then again what if scientists didnt believe data like tree?...still got techs. workin on it...tsunami early warning for Nth.Qld 'DOWN'....great.....whats 'average' & 'normal' doesnt impress me at all...the power of Tetonics does though...no matter how slow & insignificant they are to some....
