wow didnt even look at 18z, killer! i remember a similar run back in June before the 2nd ECL. also had 100-300mm over us and the illawarra and it came off. BoM looks like they're waiting to get a bit closer to the event putting a "chance" of showers for sydney next week but good to see consistency in the models especally gfs :bounce:

yeah thats correct, BoM hasn't got inputs from GFS which i find very surprising. Either way, latest run (06z) looks even better,, still consistent which is encouraging :bounce:

Combining models
Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) or computer models included in the calculation of the rainfall totals and the chance of rain are from the:
* Australian Bureau of Meteorology * US National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration * UK Meteorological Office * Japanese Meteorological Agency * European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting * Meteorological Service of Canada * German national weather service, Deutscher Wetterdienst
Latest map looks good but not good enough. would like to see a lot more progged than that across the inland. 50-100mm progged here, would be good if that came off..good chunk of our average if it did.

Thanks for that ER. Good for who though ER? Looks good enough for Victoria for a change After the massive heatwave of early Jan I think this is due. Southern Qld and Northern NSW had plenty few weeks ago I think now its Southern NSW and Vics turn this will also help the Murray river system now which hasn't got much yet through this La nina. EDIT: Welcome to the forums Vlasta. I think this is due and so do alot of the Vics down here even BOM starting to talk things up on radio down here past couple of days. Also been reading how high the ants have been making their mounds ants don't lie everytime someone or few people have mentioned them doing this a rain event has happend so fingers crossed with this one.

i meant for inland QLD, NSW including the coast and VIC altogether in general.. it doesnt look that great. for a strong lanina so far its been a poor effort with many areas missing out, hope things change and soon. couple of ants and various other insects crawling all over our new kitchen, got plenty outside building mounds as well. must be tomorrows storms, hopefully a lot more

goodnes me John , never tho about ants until now , u r right . I had ants entering my house since i got here . Couldnt leave a drop of a bread anywhere . This year i forgot about it , and no ants . And there is a lot of food around right now . Ants come to houses to get moisture , and they know , they dont need any now , that just solved my problem , if we gonna get a disaster rain event , as iam sure we will , we can blame ants . Uh Oh this probably will be the sillest post ever

That would certainly have the potential to give the rest of the Murray catchment a bit of a drink.
 Will
