Regardless of the forecasts made earlier this year, the current weather setup remains your best chance this year to receive good rainfall. I would say there is currently an 85% chance the Rocky region will record falls of 50 - 100mm+ by Wednesday night. Obviously there is only one obstacle to finding out the exact outcome - time!

Maclaw, last year I posted about the ants around my BBQ area. Days before the flood, I knew we were in for something bad. There were that many, it looked like the grass/cement was moving. I also noticed them building under the bbq. All these things they are doing again. I also noticed today they were walking up the walls in my laundry

My dad always taught me to look at the signs, before that last lot of rain we had 4 weeks ago I saw a whole flock of white galahs near my place, never had I seen anything like it, took heaps of photos. But ants are usually a good sign. In Jan last year I had 2 turtles in my yard on the move.

Well that latest BSCH has Mackay with floaties on again. Amazing how much it can change from one run to the next, things look good for around Gympie too.

Cairns. The Herbert & Lower Burdekin, northern parts of Central coast and
Central Highlands & Coalfields
Issued at 9:05 pm on Friday 6 February 2009

Synoptic Situation: A monsoonal low is located near Innisfail and is expected to
move slowly southwards during the next 24 hours. South and near this low bands
of rain, heavy at times, are slowly drifting south. The southern edge of these
rain bands are expected to reach a line from about Mackay to Moranbah by late
