Cardwell ended up with a very impressive 1099mm for January. I think it was the wettest start to the year since 1981.

FNQ - You can quite gladly have the bigger totals for Feb, have to do some work on our block putting some drains in to divert water run-off and a couple of drier weeks would be welcome.

It's started raining again.

Surface obs still show a westerly or even slight WNW track and the radar shows some banding, but not a cyclone at this stage. The rain and wind will come in bursts with quiet periods in between. It is looking like a crossing between Innisfail and Cape Trib with lots of rain but not too windy hopefully!

The ABC seem to be the worst offenders too. They ran the most BS story when Justin was off the coast years back.

I hope work is cancelled tomorrow, come on Ellie you know you wanna come see about me.

Had a huge clap of thunder just before and it rumbled on for ages afterward. My dog who has been through a fair few storms is now somewhat scared after we had a close strike a few months back.

husband finally found the holder for the rain gauge but cannot find the container to collect the rain to read, says its in the shed somewhere (thinks thats were he put it after the move hmmm) so i have the stairpicket but no gauge. it would be just easier to go and buy another one but he thinks thats a waste of money cause we have a perfectly good one that has nothing wrong with it, he just needs to find it (of course)
