Good day folks..

Bit of a let down this morning with only 43mm.

Mick10, 2mm for your airport for march, low fall record.. Bugga,

Paccy , yes the figures are climbing but it still feels like a poor season ..

Cheers

Can understand fully Bunyip, its what ur used to.
I can honestly say this season wasn't all that spectacular, loved all the rain but it wasn't a "WOW" wet season. No cyclones and hardly any thunderstorms considering a La nina was at play very poor indeed.
So far this has been the 3rd wettest wet season since 2000 for my records.

I said it and that's it, 'poor' was in relation to there being a La nina event. We have had 1m plus falls in none la nina years b4, dude its no biggy. Maybe for Tville folk it is. wink

Every La Nina is different. Mackay had about a metre of rain in February which caused disastrous flooding in the city and then we had a relatively dry March (thankfully). Cairns average rainfall for these months is probably a little higher than Mackay but not a great deal .. the effects of 1000mm in a month I suppose depends on how it is spread over the month ... but for anywhere other places like Innisfail/Babinda/Tully, I would think it would be fairly extreme!
Cairns and other places north of Townsville probably had more rain in the year of cyclones Larry/Monica which was not generally regarded as a La Nina season as far as Australia was concerned.

Well, I never made the 'magic metre' here at holloways. Ended up with 969.3mm to 09:00 hrs this morning. Still did better than the BOM site at the airport. Now 2043.6mm year to date.

just listening too BOM on the ABC , sounds like the last hooraa with the chance of moderate too heavy falls from this arvo on ..

looking at the GSM IR loops and radar I recon it could be going too slip just north of us , bugga again...

TED , living in townsvile you wouldn't understand the disappointment of not getting a big flow in the river and being cut off for a coulpe of days a couple of times in a wet.. This is the first season in 6 that I haven't had a 200mm or more fall at least once..
So its just an average wet season frown

Cheers

Is it raining around the tablelands? The reason I ask is Ted (C4L) is on camp up there and has no access to a computer. It must be killing him. LOL
