Ok, here's where I ask a question in an attempt to learn something:

Have a look at WZ NW Australia Radar .

What is that happening over Port Hedland this morning? Looks like someone is waving a bar of light around. Can't see it on BoM Port Hedland Radar, tho. Any ideas? confused

Noticed 110 at Onslow (but only 24 at Onslow Airport) in the 24 hours to 9 yesterday. Pretty impressive when one considers that the monthly mean is around 2mm and there had never previously been a November day above 30 at either Onslow site.

Better get use to it OZ,we are known as the no rain town. But November is always dry so if we had got rain it would have been unusual.Need more heat to get some action going. This cool weather is good in some ways but bad for the storms

I can see it now.....

17th December 2008.
A strong tropical low will drift over the NW of WA delivering very heavy rainfall to parts of the Kimberley and the Pilbara coast. Karratha has already picked up 150mm in the last 2 hours with much more rain expected over the next 24 hours.

laugh wink

The Onslow 110 turns out to be the first time that there's been a 100+ fall in November anywhere in districts 5 or 6 (essentially from east of Onslow to south of Carnarvon). The closest previous 100+ was a 160 at Mandora (east of Port Hedland) in 1983 from an early-season TC.
