I know that this maybe discussed somewhere else but I can't quickly hunt it down.

Just a quick comment as I happened to see the last of Alan Wilkie's presentations on Friday night. I wasn't expecting it, but can't really be surprised.

Alan went on a bit too long but having said that, the guy had one heck of a long career at it, so he must of done some things right.

He was the TV weather man that I grew up with, having been on Channel 7 when I first remember seeing him. He moved over to Channel 9 later [I think he said he'd done 25 years.]. When you hinted to people that you were keen to go into the weather, they referred to you 'as another Alan Wilke?'. I was keen to get in the weather but not as a presenter!

I wonder how me may have gone if he'd been with another TV network?

Dave.

We watched it as well Dave. Jim Waley gave him a nice wrap. Did they intend to leave him standing there for so long at the end, I wonder ?

There has been a little discussion on Allan Wilkie in these threads:

Channel 7 Weather.
