Thats the understatement of the year Jane!! Its been terrible, no strong cold fronts and no low level snow. Infact hardly even any high level snow.

Brilliant photos on that page Jane, thanks for sharing them.
What altitude is Korumburra??

Enak, great sunsets.

well done Jane wink
not sure if a new thread is warranted for this 'topic' or go in the high country ramble one either (someone can feel free to start/move all these into one then fine) - but anyway :p - some of my photographs from the impressive event of 12months ago today can be found HERE

More recently, here is a phone pic of a fairly chunky coldie down in sth gippy a week or two ago;

cheers,

Bit of atmospheric optics I was privvy to see today, which was a nice surprise on an otherwise awful day.

Ocean or Sky? You be the judge. wink

Excellent iridescence Helen. One of the best examples ive seen.
The only thing that would improve this shot would be a dirty great wedge tailed eagle riding the thermals in the foreground!!!!!

Just saw this out the front of my place. Cirrus with virga "falling" through a thin altocumulus layer?

Have seen this sort of cloud effect before but the nicest example I've seen myself.

Wow excellent images there Michael. Classic example of the "hole-punch" cloud!
