Another front went through the south and to the north the Pilbara finally got a good drink with some good quality rain falling in some parched areas.

The rain moved a bit further inland and was more widespread in north and south.

Yes Ron don't think many complaining about this lot of weather.
At least the farmers will get a start with their crops.

Sad to see not a lot of activity happening inland NSW and Vic atm.

Rain not quite as heavy as yesterday but still a good widespread event happening in the Pilbara from about Karratha to about Exmouth with the trough from the north west .

In the south another front is bringing widespread light falls of rain heavier along the coast..

Rain tapering off a bit up to this morning but stillsome decent falls around .

Should pick up down the south west on Sunday with another frontal system coming through.

Rain drying up a bit overnight but another burst with a front coming through later today in the south west.

Northerly winds already picking up in the south .
Cape Leeuwin had NW winds at 87 km/hr this morning.

Farmers will be delighted with some good rain falling right through the south west and adjacent areas.
Basically from Geraldton to Walpole got a decent soaking with that last front from last night .

Gale force north westerly winds in the coastal parts as well .
Cape Leeuwin 98km/hr winds and Rottnest 89km/hr.

Another front and trough approaching the south from the west .

BOM got all the warnings out as strong winds up to 125km/hr are possible.

for DESTRUCTIVE WINDS

For people in South West and parts of Lower West and South Coastal districts.


Issued at 3:37 pm Sunday, 17 June 2018.

Destructive gusts are possible in isolated areas across the southwest as a cold front moves through overnight.

Weather Situation:
A moderate to strong cold front will move across southwest parts of the State overnight tonight.

The weather system may cause WIDESPREAD DAMAGING WINDS to 100 kilometres per hour that could result in DAMAGE TO HOMES AND PROPERTY in the southern half of the warning area.

In isolated areas DANGEROUS GUSTS in excess of 125 kilometres per hour are possible and could cause SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE OR DESTRUCTION TO HOMES AND PROPERTY.

The onset of severe weather is expected at the South West Capes from approximately 10pm this evening, extending to eastern parts of the warning area with the passage of the cold front by 1am on Monday.

The threat of severe weather is likely to have ceased at the South West Capes by 1am and throughout the warning area by 3am on Monday.

Gusty showers and thunderstoms are expected to continue during Monday.

A second Severe Weather Warning for HEAVY RAINFALL is also current for the Gascoyne and Pilbara districts.

Locations which may be affected include Bunbury, Busselton, Mandurah, Manjimup, Margaret River and Walpole.

Some good widespread rain was recorded from coastal parts and adjacent areas from Shark Bay in the north to Albany in the south.
Trough and front moving through the area last night into this morning.

Strong winds up to 90kms/hr were also felt along the south west and lower west coastline.

Big rain up at Exmouth and flooding in main town with the trough from the north west.
In the south rain diminishing as front moves on to the Bight.

Rain almost dried especially towards the north but still some lingering showers in the south west and south eastern parts.

A frontal trough will bring some more light showers and onshore winds to the south tomorrow.

Lots of cold air moving around the Goldfields region of the state with the high moving in to the Bight.

Norseman had a chilly minimum of -1.9deg last night .

A bit more rain then expected from the passing front and trough.
Good falls especially along the coast and adjacent areas of the south .Bunbury had a nice drop of 62 mms.

Should be a bit more to come from this event today and into tonight for the south then clearing by Thursday arvo as the system moves along towards the East.

With another high moving in to the region some more chilly nights around.

Much of the Goldfields ,lower west and south west failing to get above 5 deg minimum last night.
Gingin had 1.3 deg this morning and Dwellingup was 1.2 deg.

Goldfields still the cold spot with another high moving across the state .

Leonora went down to -0.3 deg last night , Noresman 0.5 deg and Mouth Keith 1.2 deg.

A little bit below average rainfall for the south especially in parts of the wheatbelt although parts of the south coastal faired a lot better.

A least there was enough for most to get a crop going now hoping for some good July rain to keep it growing...
