Still no sign of rain in Perth and continues to heat up at low 30s this weekend

Wow Wal! lucky you having 70 ml,s. Perth would love to have any rain at present as our indian summer continues.
Chance of a isolated shower or two next week as the trough deepens come Monday. I think the key word is "isolated" so we will wait and see.
Look foward to a big front to deliver what Perth knows will give it some guaranteed moisture. Hopefully not to far away.
In the meantime I recon 2ml on Monday next week.

Being a born and bred sandgroper I miss those indian summers!! Well a summer in general actually. Mackay has had around 600mm rain in the past week, most of that falling in the last few days, forgotten what the sun looks like. I envy you guys!

I envy rain... any rain... just a tad bit to remind me what it smells like.

Yes it's hard to beat that fresh smell of rain (we don't get that over here as it's usually torrential, the grounds usually flooding before you get that beautiful smell of it, argh).

I cant remember the last time we had any decent rain, and after going through a summer of 8 heatwaves(correct me if I am wrong)without air conditioning, makes me feell that Im going a bit mental with heat stroke. I need to hop on a plane and fly east to get a dose of rain to keep me sane.

you do not have to fly to far east waffles. just come to kalgoorlie and the magnificent goldfields to see what a bit of rain can do to the bush.

Perth missed the rain again. I believe it will be dried for the next 2 weeks.

yeah no rain again. A few showers to the north of Perth yesterday arvo but as ussual Perth and surrounds missed out.
Not sure when we will actually get any rain? Nothing on any models to look foward to.
In saying that autumn is here and the nights are cooling. Leaves turning brown and starting to fall. surely it cant be long for befor some wet.

From memory, the 1st two weeks in June are usually the ice breaker for the start of the rainy season, but Ive noticed over the years that there has been a few very dry Junes.
If it doesnt bucket down in those 1st couple of weeks of June, then I would predict another late start to the rain and dare I say it.. a drier winter for this year.

I remember it used to rain non stop for weeks and weeks, I wonder if we will ever get back into a wet cycle again.?

When I used to live in Perth... in May 2005 there was 250mm of rain and every May since then has been below average.

Hopefully its a sign of a wet winter.

Was great to (as you say Walffles) smell a little rain at last but showers still very isolated. Suburbs to get no rain at all include, Perth airport, Rottnest, Gosnells and Swanbourne.
Hopefully a little more to come this week.
No recording in my rain guage yet.
Still looking foward to that big front to come up from the south and give us a drenching.
Looks like a fine easter on the way for Perth and s/west.

Further south we are getting regular showers, I see perth is missing out on all this.
I guess its time to light the fire and get some winter experience while it last.
A few more days like this would be great, just some nice gentle soaking rain, before any great downpours begin(after easter I hope).

I was checking the rainfall this month and already 18 mm has fallen , not much more (just 25mm) needs to fall really to get the average of 43mm.

May seems to be dry the past few years. I recall in 2005 it was the last decent May for rainfall. Ever since, it has been below average.... for 6 years !

complete contrast to eastern states at the moment.
must say im loving these beaut days.

B-Bill not really, by South Eastern states standards this is a great Autumn so far, lots of Indian Summers, mind you I don't like the heat much.
