Hey weathernut, i might PM a moderator and see if we can keep the spring pictures thread at the top of the page and change the topic name. It would be a shame to see a great collection of pictures slip away in place for a new thread. I dont know if they can do it but i will ask.

Iridescence on ' Summer Eve', Sunday 30/11/03.
These are two previews of more iridescence I took that day plus other stuff. There's eleven frames in this sequence. I think I'll make an animation applet (like the eclipse java applet) to show how the colors changed over a 15 sec (approx) period. It should make an interesting animation.

-

But for now, I have an Exhibition opening to dash to - my own. (Meanwhile there's thunder breaking overhead atm here, darn it. Busy week !)
Details here ; http://www.wilderness.org.au/regions/vic/aweexhibition/

Great pics as always Ern. Just curious why this thread has not got one off those lock at the top things like the spring one. Is this less important? confused I think not. If it doesnt get a lock at the top it will dissapear and we will just have to start more threads on recent photos taken. Just my view.
Here are a couple of photos from the last couple of days.

Great photos Ern and STORMFREAK.
I actually asked if we could keep the spring thread pegged at the top of the page, but have the topic name changed to something like 'weather pictures and queries.' Because there is a lot of fantastic pictures in there and it would be a shame to see them slip away, but i never received a response. confused
But if we cant do that, it would be good for this thread to take its place at the top of the page. smile

I am with you on this one.

The spring thread was most enjoyable and inspirational to look & Read through.
The way I look at is for those that are new to photography and posting photos
You are tapping into the knowledge, skill & expertise of what I consider Australia’s best weather/nature photographers!!!!!
Who are more than willing to shear there talent if asked.
So the spring & Summer Pix threads to the regular & visiting Viewer are more than gratifying.
So if you are a member or thinking of becoming a member posts your pix!! The praise / criticism that will come from it will only enhance your photographic experience. wink
Enough of that back to the job at hand! I was asked by a family friend to do some shots of her flowers around her garden “Chance to do so macro work” and I thought it would go well in the summer thread.
The pan is from one day last week.

Just a thought.
Ray

Hi All,
If just one of us posts a picture or comment every day that will keep it near the top. The Spring one had some fantastic photos on it and I think we could make the summer one even better.

Thats a fantastic photo Tim. It looks like some kind of lenticular cloud forming due to the uplift from the cloud beneath it. confused

Now we’re getting some were great stuff!!!!!!

Good work Tim I tend to agree with VolKl on that one. wink
Yes VolKl the Hart Foundation isn’t going to give me any ticks ether.
The angle of that shot you got would have been worth the sudden heat rash. :p
Just go’s to show that if you bend a bit the prospective becomes all together different.

Great work!!!!!!
Sorry StormFreak you posted just before me. Great Work

It looked amazing. (er woops lots of posts in between.., I am referring to my previous shot) Sounds like a good explanation only on a small scale. As well as being short lived it was small in size. The area over which it was forming is quite hilly and also quite warm. Plenty of thermals today...
Maybe it was the exhaust plume of SF's UFO as it left the planet wink LOL...
Great sunsets BTW SF.
Cheers,
Tim laugh

Just had a look in my archives.
These are taken with my old Pentax Z1 SLR as far as I can remember they were taken in 1991-92.
It was summer time I remember that.
See what you think. confused

Hope you injoy
