I have come across a few people who do not know how to get video stills of lightning, it may appear hard but it is actually quite simple. Once you know how to do it.

1. Get the video you would like to take the still images of and transfer it from your digital camera into your computer.
2. Open up Windows Movie Maker and click on import video. Choose your file and click open, it may take a few seconds to process. Screenshot below.

3. Play it until it gets to the lightning pause after the bolt and then click back through the previous frames to get the best image of the bolt. Screenshot below.

4. Press the take picture button to take a photo of the little screen and then save. Screenshot below.

5. Do this as much as you want.

Now you know how to take video stills.
I hope this helped you all out.

You may need to tale the stills to a photo program and de-interlace after this step too, also remove as much noise as possible as video stills are very grainy.

While were on the windows movie maker topic, does anyone know how to position text on it. It appears you can only put "titles" on but not text around the screen. When i put my title into my videos it always appears on the top of the screen, but i want it on the left, right and bottom. Can any1 help me on this one?
