It's interesting to note that on the provincial cities forecast on the bom site, Geraldton and Bunbury both have a late storm forecast for Sunday yet Perth doesn't. confused

G'day Squid.
What do you base that on? Some models (OCF) are only going for 5 mm.
It also looks like the rainfall will die of pretty quickly on Monday.

Looks like the very thin line of showers & an embeded storm of two that is sitting to the SW of Perth is a classic NE/NW convergance line.

Looking south from my house the structure isn't too bad. Just a shame the portion west of Perth hasn't developed all that much

very thin lne out to sea i hope it pickes up a bit before coming ashore
gfs develops a low off the coast in a few days time from that cloud mass that has been hanging around the NW cape area do you think that we will get much from that system if it develops???
my 20mm is not based on anything just a wild guess this time but i dont think that will happen now maby 10mm

I was on my balcony looking west not long ago and noticed what looked to be some towers going up, 20 mins later radar confirms some very thin but strong looking showers. Maybe with abit of luck they will thicken up a little and become electrically based :p

I looked at the radar about an hour ago and thought I was going to miss out - but since then then line has grown and it now looks like I'm about to receive a heavy shower! (it's drizzling at the moment).

That line came through here just after 10pm and sat over me for a good 10 min or so...picked up 9.6mm from it laugh . Probly the heaviest rain I've had this year.

radar looks dead just drizzle here hopefully we pick up a few more mm throughout the day.

Thought you might have scored well from that line JJ, seemed to really fire up when it got to your neck of the woods. I only managed 2-3mm from that line and a total of 6.5mm for the night. Currently raining here, probably light to moderate showers, definitely not drizzle, yet nothing on the radar in the last 4 frames! the perth radar is shocking in situations like this.

Agree the radar does not do the light stuff very well and IMO pretty pessemistic on the heavy rain as well. Got 6mm here up to 9am of mainly drizzle..

Maybe it purposely returns less rain up here, so that the poor suckers that don't live in rain thief territory feel better about the few drops they receive? smile

I would be worried if that were the forecast in Summer! So is a Rorecast, like a forecast but one that makes you rore with laughter? :p

The cold pool behind this mornings front looks fairly decent, both on the radar and sat pics, should see a showery period start again here shortly and last the rest of the arvo, hopefully smile
