Hi all.
I have great interest in this situation as I will be over in Adelaide from Friday night for a week.
Unfortunately the timing of the change is bad for Adelaide with the thundery stuff expected to come through around 3 or 4 saturday morning... I'd expect we will get some remnants of the good storms expected over Eyre Peninsula late Friday. I'm guessing not much rain in it, maybe up to 5mm in Western, Central and South East districts.
As I said Eyre Pen. will be the place to be on Friday afternoon (which will please Ricky no doubt... poke ) Looks like TT's and LI's will be good also in that region. I was hoping to go chasing on Saturday but because the timing is shot that is no longer an option. Looks like the best place to be on Saturday afternoon will be the Hay Plains and the other Central NSW areas... (Weathernut should get something laugh )
Okay, any other thoughts on this system?? nerd

Yes this change looks to have more in it than the last one..the thing that really pees me off is the timing. Orginally it appeared as if it would be coming in on sat arvo, now its in the pre-dawn hours. Expect some nice storms to fire around Ceduna on friday night..and we will see the remnats on sat morn, b4 they once again fire up for Melbourne of all places....BUT u know what happened here on December 2nd, they came thru at 4am to 7am and it was the best storms for years...theres still hope I hope...

Hehe, well Ben we got 7 storms on tuesday for a grand total of 0.2mm hardly damp stuff....

This system looks to have more moisture, and better upper support but is coming thru at some ungodly hour....I hope there is enough heat left over from friday to fuel these ones along the shallow but broad trough, NW SA will see some huge mothers form thats for sure, there is already a storm firing NW of Coober Pedy way, u can see it on tracker and sat pic.

I hope your right teckert! I really didnt think much was going to come of this system but there you go you learn something new every day. Heat might be a little bit of an issue, not very warm here today, but if this south easterly breeze dies off that can soon change.

Hang in there TH, you'll get one eventually. Although I like the prospect of getting thunderstorms its a bit of a worry for central eyre penisula. The southern EP got enough rain this winter and so it is fairly green and up here a fire started by lightning wont matter because there is not much to burn. But in the middle of EP they have a reasonable fuel load and its all dry and that equals bushfires.

Some Showers around the Woomera area atm and south of there and some Lightening on the sourthem tip of those showers too
so i think you have an ok chance of storms i hope it slows a bit and doesnt hit here till late tomorrow smile smile

Nice upper low in WA atm hope that heads this way and slams in to the Trough but i dont think so.

hi adam,

those storms are a long way off atm, be lucky to see them before daybreak, but then when\if they do get here they'll be well and truly dead.

I was just looking at that patch of rain up near woomera as well. The woomera radar is calibrated slightly differently to the adelaide and ceduna ones, so anything that gets to dark green on the woomera radar is worth taking a look at. Nothing much going on around here atm, very overcast and the odd bit of static, but no thunder, its even trying to rain. The clouds are not looking to thundery, I doubt wether I will get much out of this first band at all, might get something out of one of the following bands but they are likely to come through in the early hours of the morning which is not good. Maybe the adelaideans will get a better deal than what they originally thought. Still, as usual will wait and see.

Actually, speaking of the woomera radar, does anyone else out there have trouble getting it to animate? I can get all the other sa ones to work plus the sa composite radar, the woomera one how ever always seems to load the wrong files
confused

I know its been tough for storms in your area but dont give up! that trough seems to have a bit of guts and storms have a solid NNW movement about them instead of the usual WSW across KI and die scenario. Its a different set up than lately so you never know (",)
