Our pleasure grin
But if you stay for another day or so (sometimes) you may be treated to Wummer (winter/summer) wonderland and turlteneck jumpers grin
It has been lovely summery weather and the tennis matches have been blessed with this stable patch of weather.
By the look of the satellite pics, the plane you went back to NSW in may have blasted a potential weather kick (from the QLD/NSW weather systems) down our way (due in the next day or so). wink

Stay in Sydney, it's much nicer. Even when the ECLs make it wet in winter, you get sun after a day or four.

What about the ECL to make them wet on their doorstep?

I lived up there for many years. The worst part about the rain was waiting against the kerb at a crowded bus stop, just about able to stop the rain from wetting you from above, when a full bus went past and soaked you with the flooded gutter from below. But then after it lost huff and the rain stopped, I could look out across the valley into the national park from my parent verandah and see wreathes of cloud hanging over and around the many many rockshelfs, and when the sun cam out, it would light the many ephemeral cascades silver in the afternoon sun.

mmmm dlcat1....that was quite poetic smile
Created a nice 'scene' in my mind that smile - not getting saturated by the splash from the bus, but the mountain scene.
Are we really in the right neck of the woods atm? Where are those rockshelfs you talk about - they sound spectacular....

Up in the far north of Sydney, in the Hawkesbury sandstone area.

Got some Wummer on arrival, was only 19c and I was grring at Melbourne! But then the next day the sun came out and from then onwards it was beautiful. In terms of the CBD, IMO Melbourne is better than Sydney, far more interesting in my opinion. But that may be because I have been here my whole life. Barely seen the sun up here all summer dlcat wink May have to move to Melbourne eventually for work, which I was dreading, but really I have decided it won't be that bad after this trip smile

Thanks for posting your great pic crymson7, maybe the same cell I was under as I left work yesterday.

Cool breezy SW day here, overcast all day. A fairly windy night had at times. Calm and cool out now with thick low cloud to the E.

Raising eyebrows with the early morning development N of the border, around Swan Hill/Echuca.
wont impact S/Central VIC but it appears that the NSW event has retrograded further W than originally forecast.

Sydney rainfall totals for today have increased from 20-50mm to 30-70mm which tends to suggest that the trough is either a) amplifying or b) further west and will be impacting a greater pat of SE OZ.

Yes Bulos! Just what I was going to comment on. I wonder how far south that system will move?

Just did some research & 41 days now that the temp hasn't gone above 35.0c in Melbourne which is the longest streak in any Summer since the Summer of 1997/98 when we had 43 days in a row in December and January

47 days now.

It's more than likely that the 35C and under spell will continue through to the end of summer. If this occurs it will end up 58 days!

A breezeless calm and cloudy day here at Maffra, circa 21C.

Went for a drive, plenty of water still trickling along in the creeks, all farm dams are full, tracks are still muddy, 3 of the 16 gates at Glenmaggie dam are open, plenty of flow in the McAllister, still plenty of flow in the Avon too - its been quite high going by the debris in the trees.

Noticed something interesting happen here. Was watching the temp drop fairly rapidly not long ago, however I check back now and it has risen again by almost 2C!

All I can really think of is maybe radiant heat from the ground or house getting to the sensor, but I'm not sure. Did anyone else observe something similar?
