Yeah. Already above 32 here at school and its just beginning to clear now. Some sunny areas and the temp will sky rocket. 36 or even higher possible here just ahead of the wind change early to mid afternoon.

Well in a way I was correct and in a way I wasn't about today. The temp was kept down a bit by the cloud( I really think it could easily have reached 36/37). The bit of sun that shone this afternoon made the heat just that little bit uncomfortable. And with the third day in a row above 32c looks like are going to have another above average month, maximum-wise.

Min: 17.5 Max:34.7

(and just because I like numbers!, and for our US readers in here!, the past 3 days in Melbourne have been 89.6F, 95.7F, and 94.5F, that is nice and hot!)

As is the case, less rain out this way, about 5mm for the entire night. A bit disappointing really, at least the sound of thunder was great to hear.....however I was in such a daze this morning I couldnt get up to appreciate the storms... smile

Well as we are all aware some good storms around last night and this morning, which cleared the air and made for a warm and mostly sunny afternoon. Much more comfortable day.

Min: 13.9 Max:21.7

I've seen it happen before on quite a few occasions where the official temp range has been less than one degree but never forecast, it's the kind of thing you just cannot forecast it just happens.

Anyway yet another typo that they've now fixed. BOM are classics with their typos.

Tomorrow is going to be a chilly one but very little rain away from the coast. Should be dry here with some early cloud clearing to a cool day.

I think its a typo if the forecast is based on EC were in Southerly winds Friday all day so can't see why Friday night Minimum will be 18c lol

good to see the BOM can quickly fix the small mistakes! lol

Quite breezy today dispite the warm sunshine. Apart from that, pretty boring really.

I think tomorrow will probably reach 19 rather than the 'cold' 17 forecast. Maybe out in exposed southern suburbs.

Models have negative 850 hpa temps for tomorrow morning in the south which usually means a cool one but the sun at this time of year has quite a lot of 'oomph' to it so maximums usually end up higher so you're probably right there Norfolk with 19C. wink Southern suburbs will get the brunt of the southerlies and cloud/drizzle etc. so I agree with you there also that that's where the coolest temps will be.

Another reason why I am begining to lack confidence with the BOM. Although they did get today's temp right so I will give them that!

And it's great to see this change in weather this month. Although more rain would be better......at least forecasts are not just dry dry dry.

So anyone want to guess what's in store for December?

Vinny, Melbourne's average is normally 649mm, although it hasn't hit that in years! That's why things are in such dire straits here.

Yeah, how can you be wrong if you forecast everything.

Perhaps they should chuck a 'fine' in front of Wednesday's forecast just to make absolute sure all bases are covered.
