As far a having a nice day, today was my ultimate in regards to BBQ's, picnic's etc.... Not too hot but just perfect. If we have to have days like these, this is just how I LOVE them to be. Tomorrow is getting a little too hot, but hopefully it might help generate some storms if conditions are right. What a day cool

finally a day above average! I know some people don't like it but I enjoyed today! Was a mostly sunny day with high cloud moving in late this afternoon. The was a bit of a freshening northerly this afternoon (or was it more a northeasterly?). Made for a great summers day.

This warmth, just in time for my holidays!

Well a nice warm summers day. This is what I like. smile

Ok I must admit it was a bit windy, it was a bit hot and for a while while the cloud cover was thick it was a bit uncomfortable but otherwise perfect! lol

The day started mostly cloudy, the the cloud cleared for a bit to have the sun beating down. With the combination of sun and wind, dragged the temp up nicely. Hottest day this month! The cloud thickened up again just as the change slowly made it's way towards here. Change hit just before 5pm. Now the sun is shining. Thank you weather gods for producing this day for me smile

Yes I am! laugh :nerd:

Seriously, yes I know after a lengthy drought there are people out there who want rain and cool weather for the summer. But I say let the weather do what it should. Nice cool wet winters, nice warm to hot summers.
In all honesty, for most of today I wasn't feeling the heat at all, I had no air conditioner on, went out this morning and I made do. The only thing I would say I didn't like today was the wind. I probably also felt just a little uncomfortable later this arvo, probably because my body has been used to the coolness of december and so today was a shock to the system. Mind you I wouldn't ask for days and days of this, like alot of people got last March, but a day or 2 now and then is fine smile

Looking forward to the next warm one, Tony

For some reason the heat didn't bother me today, I guess being in an air conditioned office most of the day helps but I was out in it at lunch time and just before the change came through.

The wind though was ridiculous, some of the gusts were so severe you had trouble standing up.

I wouldn't say better, just cooler!

Early cloud and drizzle cleared to a fine and sunny afternoon. With cool breezes, weather was back to the below average weather we have been used to this month. Some people would call it a boring day, others pleasant, others still would say cold! It was just nice and springlike for me.

Would have been a perfect day but the wind stuffed it up again, made it feel cooler than it actually was and just the discomfort of having wind blasting your face all the time.

That's something I find we don't get as much of here at this time of year, windy conditions. Of course we get very windy days but more often than not it is generally calm here in Summer, Melbourne and coastal areas tend to get the sea breezes and stronger southerly winds.

You are right Snowline, it is definately more windier the closer to the bay and sea you are. That's why it can be extremely hot in places like Gisborne and Sunbury and much cooler along the bay. I used to work in Sunbury and there were many days in summer when the weather was quite hot up there and by the time I got home the seabreeze had been blowing all day. I used to call it the Sunbury micro-climate! lol

Hi all. A great Christmas Eve. Nice and dry and sunny and a bit warmer than yesterday. Light breezes made it ver pleasant. Again as I said yesterday, some people may find it boring, but at least it made my angry journey to the Telstra shop this afternoon with all that Xmas eve crowds just that little bit easier. (Don't ask about why it was an angry journey...IT JUST WAS!!!) lol

Caroline Springs: Min:11.5 Max:23.4
Melbourne: Min: 12.7 Max: 24.4 (late max!)

Have a great Christmas all, hope the big fat man gives you everything you want. He can thank us all later for providing perfect flying conditions for him!

Haha, Norfolk. Any dealings with Telstra make you pretty angry at the best of times.

Beautiful day today although the sun is really very intense now we have just passed the summer solstice. Practically no wind here which made it even better. Christmas looking fantastic as well, almost ideal conditions, good for the traditional Christmas dinner and for those of us who prefer seafood, BBQ or whatever.

Tell Santa to remember the sunscreen. laugh

2008 24th: 12.7-24.4 25th: ?

Not a bad start and by the looks of things Christmas should be something similar, might be a little warmer here away from the bay and of course a hot one inland. A lot of cool Christmases in the last 10 years looking at that list although seabreezes may have played a big part in a lot of them.

I just went through the records back as far as 1967 and aside from 1998 there have been no major heatwaves around Christmas but quite a few very cool periods of temps in the mid to high teens. Very interesting.

Merry Christmas everyone!

There might have been some morning cloud but I slept in! Otherwise I saw lots of sun a nice breeze and lots of food!!!!! Seabreeze played a big impact in the temps today, Geelong was quite cool, coldstream much warmer. At one stage it looked like the seabreeze was going to blow strongly here and clouds from the south west began to make it's way here but that all cleared!

Overall a nice sunny christmas day. Hope you all enjoyed it.

Was a nice day Tony had a good one. Hope you did too. Apart from tomorrow (which looks quite warm) looks like the mild weather is here to stay for quite a period yet.
